Great Guitar for a Lefty

By ExportDrummer73

from St. Peters, MO

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Special II Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I'm a lefty and I always had trouble finding an affordable left hand guitar. I found this one and I couldn't believe the price! Its sounds almost as good as some of the Gibsons I've played. Definently a great guitar for the money!

Great Price for an Uncommon Dexterity

By TrainOfConsequences

from Lewisville, TX

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Special II Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

When I first started playing, I picked this one out knowing the possibility that the price could be a clue as to the quality. Let me tell you all that I was wrong. This guitar has a lot of tone and easily conforms to the diversity of the music I play. This would be a great guitar to give to someone who has just started learning.

good price, better guitar

By Colin

from St. Louis

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Special II Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I recently bought this guitar for my brother who has just started learning, and let me tell you it exceeded my expectations. I had heard good things about this guitar but when I saw it's price I thought it must have been way over-hyped. But when I first picked it up the tone was great and it's a beautiful guitar. I'd recommend it for a beginner and even a pretty advanced player. Once you get really good it's probably not going to be the kind of guitar our looking for, but for a begginner I'm not sure there is a better choice out there. I highly recommend this for beggining leftys. I bought this 3 months ago and we still have had no problems with any of the hardware.

Great Beginner guitar

By Joe

from Boston, Massachutesetts

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Special II Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar for christmas 2 years ago. And today is the day i finally had to bring it to a repair shop for the first time because the pickup finally fell in. So 2 years straight with not a single problem is AMAZING for a 184 dollar guitar. Great sound, great quality, great price. What can beat it.

By Dead Signal

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Special II Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

This guitar was my first buy and i play on a line 6 amp, but found out that this guitar sounds good for any type of style. The only problem is the little e slides off the neck while pulling of alot but other than that its perfect for the price.

Simply beautiful

By Vash

from Grass Valley

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Special II Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I have been playing acoustic for a little while now and i wanted to change to electric, try it out. But i wanted something cheep, to see if i like it. This gets the job done well. Don't let the picture fool you, this guitar is so much more nice then what it shows. It plays graet, sounds amazing, and looks beautiful. Of course the more money you spend the better you get. But for this price, I don't think you can beat it. If your a newbie or, like me, want to try an electric i say go for this guitar.

Great Guitar For Beginners

By Les Paul Guy

from North County, CA

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Special II Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

This guitar is definitely the best left-handed guitar you can get at this price range. The action is very nice, and it is very easy to play. The tone is nice also. it does have a few flaws with the craftsmanship though. I had to refill both of the strap holders, because they both came loose. I also had to refit the pickups. In short, get this if you are just starting and want a guitar for cheap. Although I would personally tell you to save up the extra money and get the Epiphone Les Paul Standard.

Great Guitar for A Beginner lefty

By Mikey

from Kentucky

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Special II Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar mainly cause of the price and the dexterity of it. My parents approved the purchase and I got it for Christmas. The price is no indicator of the quality I have played other cheaper guitars and this one really surprised me. The finish is amazing. It came setup very nice the strap buttons are a little iffy and I plan on replacing them with Strap locks later but this might just be my strap. I love how comfortable this guitar feels it plays really well. I am definitely Happy with my purchase

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Special II Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I'm a lefty but when I learned guitar it was with a right handed guitar. I bought an Ibanez and I love it but I am looking for a good lefty guitar. I found this one and I was shocked at the amazing price for such a famous brand. I cant wait to buy it.

Great

By Zach

from Michigan

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Special II Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

This is an excellent guitar, it has lasted me for a year and a half an there is almost nothing wrong with it. It makes a nice sound even with small amps, and looks awesome. The only problem is that you need to change strings every month and a half.

ok, but not great

By Del

from NJ

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Special II Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I bought this as my very first electric guitar and at the time found it awesome. However, after a solid year, I got a new one (the Sheraton II) and found that the special 2 wasn't that great of a guitar. However for the price it isn't bad, so if you have a small budget its good but otherwise... I wouldn't recommend it.

I like it.

By Robert Wallace

from Kalamazoo, MI

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Special II Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

It's a good guitar, The Pick ups on mine acted little funny right out of the box. A Little Sodering and it will be fine. My Review On Guitar Center. They Could have done much more to get this to me, Alot Sooner then a full month and a half after I ordered it. I ordered this guitar on Christmas Eve, and they didn't Call or send a email too say there will be a Delay in the Arrival.. I had to Call 3 times to finely Talk to a REAL Human not a computer. If you want this guitar... Buy it from the store. not online.

Good Beginner Guitar

By Melissa Beaudoin

from Olathe, KS

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Special II Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

This is my son's second electric guitar. It does deliver what he was wanting, which is the 'Les Paul' sound. The price was perfect for a beginner guitar. The only downfall which is why we give 4 stars, is that while tuning one of the keys broke very easily, they are made of plastic.

Awesome guitar

By Gabriel Schiriak

from Pasadena, Florida

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Special II Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

Bought this guitar to learn how to play a couple of years ago and never stopped. While I have played on guitars that cost over 10 times as much, there is no way the added benefit is worth the cost (although I did buy a Fender Strat with my tax return last year on a whim and I love it, wife's idea). Still, I always come back to this one, amazing sound quality for the price, totally worth it for the beginner that doesn't want to have to switch guitars as soon as he gets slightly better. The only change to make when you start to get better is to buy a better amp, bought a good one second hand and that was a big game changer.

pleasantly surprised

By Josephine Falcone

from Memphis, TN

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Special II Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

I'm a lefty bass player, started on guitar 20 years ago but never looked back when I moved to bass. Needed a geet just to play some rhythm parts in a band, and this is way more than I expected for the price. Played out of the box but sounds and feels better with a minor setup. Probably trade the pickups out some day and it will be more than the sum of its parts. It's junior sized but with an adjustable bridge, best of both worlds. Would have preferred the tobacco burst in the Special from a few years ago, and saw a few out there still, but went with the tried and true GC purchase, find the cherry finish cheery but not garish. Well played all around.
