Overview

The Epiphone Les Paul Special II Electric Guitar gives you all the essential elements of a Les Paul at great price. Made with a mahogany body, bolt-on mahogany neck, smooth 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, this baby is every bit as handsome as its uptown cousins. It features 700T/650R open-coil humbucking pickups that deliver long, singing sustain and true Les Paul tones.

Like all of Epiphone's electric guitars, it comes standard-equipped with 500K potentiometers for the master volume and master tone controls, plus Epiphone's heavy-duty 3-way pickup selector toggle switch and exclusive non-rotating heavy-duty output jack. The LockTone tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece add more sustain and make string changing easier.

I've had my Epiphone Les Paul Special II for about 8 weeks now, and man its nice. The pics don't even come close to show you nice this guitar is. I have the Heritage Cherry Sunburst, The pick ups are not all that, but i added some emg's and man the sound is great!! With a little work on the neck (The strings buzz sometimes) and pick ups( I use zakk wylde emg set, with an Marshall mg30dfx amp and MXR ZW-44 Wylde Overdrive Pedal). You can't find a better guitar for the money, this is by far the best starter out there in my book.

The Epiphone les paul special 2 is a average guitar for a low price there are some problems with it staying in tune and after the first couple of months you will see that the toggle switch will begin to stop working but there are some good things i have to say. First of all it looks simular to the gibson les paul and is only about 160$. If you are a experienced guitar player this is a decent back up and is also but a good starter guitar but i would recomend the epiphone les paul jr.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Special II Electric Guitar:

I've been playing over 20 years. Have had maybe 8 Gibson Les Pauls including a 57 goldtop Custom Shop. The Special ii is a good choice for you or your your kid to see if he or she is serious. It is playable, easy setup and sounds good enough for a beginner. No dead spots or buzz with a good setup. Resale is very low but for how low the initial cost no big deal. Once you get a song two down upgrade to a better instrument simply because a quality built guitar is easier to play. I recomend a Fender Mustang 1 amp along with this guitar. I even practice with that.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Special II Electric Guitar:

Purchased this guitar for a friend. Because he lived a long ways away he was not able to try it out. The neck was too harrow for his playing style. I returned this guitar and upgraded his gift to a Squire Classic Vibe Strat. The Classic Vibe is a surprisingly high quality instrument. Action and intonation are great. Tremolo system is fantastic and the guitar stays in perfect tune

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Special II Electric Guitar:

Love this guitar, was really wanting a les Paul so I got a cheap one . Mine has no fret buzz and the finish looks great. There is a scuff on the neck that was the only flaw I found on the entire guitar. The strings were out of tune completely when I got it out, quick tune up and expectedly I have to tune it occasionally but you get what you pay for.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Special II Electric Guitar:

Bought this guitar on cyber Monday after reading all the positives reviews. I received the guitar the following Thursday, so a little over a week later. Understandable for the time of year but by no means speedy. The box arrived and looked like it had seen better days. I opened it to find a bubble wrapped guitar(pretty well wrapped I must add). Not an epiphone box nor was there any paperwork with the guitar. As I unwrapped the guitar I noticed some markings on it so it was definitely either a returned or floor item. I plugged it, tuned it up, and much to my surprise it sounded pretty good! One of the speed knobs has a little trouble staying on but that can be fixed. Still debating if I am going to keep it or not. Give the guitar a solid 4, maybe 5 stars, but minus 1 star because of GC center for not being upfront about the product and another star for the ding and scratch
