Overview

The Epiphone Les Paul Special II Electric Guitar gives you all the essential elements of a Les Paul at great price. Made with a mahogany body, bolt-on mahogany neck, smooth 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, this baby is every bit as handsome as its uptown cousins. It features 700T/650R open-coil humbucking pickups that deliver long, singing sustain and true Les Paul tones.

Like all of Epiphone's electric guitars, it comes standard-equipped with 500K potentiometers for the master volume and master tone controls, plus Epiphone's heavy-duty 3-way pickup selector toggle switch and exclusive non-rotating heavy-duty output jack. The LockTone tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece add more sustain and make string changing easier.

I've had my Epiphone Les Paul Special II for about 8 weeks now, and man its nice. The pics don't even come close to show you nice this guitar is. I have the Heritage Cherry Sunburst, The pick ups are not all that, but i added some emg's and man the sound is great!! With a little work on the neck (The strings buzz sometimes) and pick ups( I use zakk wylde emg set, with an Marshall mg30dfx amp and MXR ZW-44 Wylde Overdrive Pedal). You can't find a better guitar for the money, this is by far the best starter out there in my book.

The Epiphone les paul special 2 is a average guitar for a low price there are some problems with it staying in tune and after the first couple of months you will see that the toggle switch will begin to stop working but there are some good things i have to say. First of all it looks simular to the gibson les paul and is only about 160$. If you are a experienced guitar player this is a decent back up and is also but a good starter guitar but i would recomend the epiphone les paul jr.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Special II Electric Guitar:

This was my first guitar ever, at first I was very exited about it, and it seemed to have a good sound. However, as I progressed, I realized how awful this guitar really was. I found myself constantly having to retune the three higher strings (especially the G string), no matter the gauge. Also, the fret buzz is unbearable, mainly on the low E string. It has a very cheap sound to it and playing on a clean setting sounds like garbage. I honestly have no idea how this guitar has such a good rating. Coming from someone with a few years experience, I would say this guitar would be good for someone who is just starting out and has never played before, as they are not going to realize how bad this guitar is. Even then, I would recommend to someone a different guitar that was maybe of higher quality to start with. I will give it this though, It does have a good feel to it and it was very fun to play in the beginning, it also has solid parts that were never really an issue. Conclusively, I would not buy this guitar and I have no idea how it got such a good rating and it really is a sad excuse for an instrument, seriously, ignore the other comments and please believe this one. I don't want anyone to buy this guitar without knowing this. Thank you for your time.

This guitar has the typical Gibson sound. It was set up perfectly right out of the box. I could not be happier.

Looks good in the picture. However the neck is big and the body is like a toy or us Guitar. I knew it was a 3/4 size but this is way off.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Special II Electric Guitar:

I picked this up as a mod project. I thought it would be fun to take the Nik Huber look and apply it to a cheap les paul for fun. I struggled over which would be the best choice from all the flavors epiphone offers and decided since GC says the body is mahogany that it would be better than the bass wood or poplar options. I sanded it down past the finish and it is NOT mahogany on the body. You guys should correct your info here. The neck is a two piece as well and the headstock is mahogany but the rest is definitely not. The guitar is fine overall, if you just file down the burly frets you will have a fun guitar on your hands and if you take the cheap lacquer off of the neck it is a great neck... my complaint is mostly that the site influenced my purchase with false information.
