Overview

Out of all of Les Paul's many achievements; inventor, guitarist, and hit recording artist, Les is most beloved among musicians for inspiring the Les Paul Standard, one of the most sought-after guitars in the world. And now, the Epiphone Les Paul Standard Red Royale gives the legend a fresh start with Epiphone Alnico Classic humbucker (neck) and Epiphone Alnico Classic Plus humbucker pickups, a maple veneer top, and beautiful Red Pearl finish.

The striking Red Pearl finish is reminiscent of the first wave of custom colors made by Epiphone in the 1960s and has a warm, deep, scarlet tone that' set off by Epiphone' distinctive Royale Collection Silver Sparkle binding. Each Red Royale Collection instrument features all of the modern, top-shelf pickups and hardware you™ve come to expect from Epiphone, and of course, a lifetime guarantee. In other words, the Royale Treatment! And no Royale guitar collection would be complete without the king of electric guitars, the Les Paul Standard.

Epiphone's history with legendary guitarist and innovator Les Paul dates back to the early 1940s when Les, working nights at the Epiphone factory on 14th Street in New York City, created one of the first solid body electric guitars, better known as "The Log." Over the next 15 years, Les continued to develop his dream guitar that would "sustain for days" and in the late '50s, the historic Gibson and Epiphone factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan produced the "sunburst" Les Paul Standard and its new pickup, the "PAF" humbucker.

Players like Joe Bonamassa, Slash, Ace Frehley, Zakk Wylde, Jimmy Page, Alex Lifeson and countless others get their signature sound from a "sunburst" Les Paul and now Epiphone gives you a chance to experience that one-of-a-kind tone at an affordable price with the Les Paul PRO. The Les Paul Standard PRO features Epiphone Alnico Classic (neck) and Epiphone Alnico Classic Plus (bridge) pickups and all the modern appointments that players expect from Epiphone.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Red Royale Electric Guitar:

I have had my eye on this guitar for quite awhile. I have owned Epiphone and Gibson Les Paul's . This guitar surpasses my expectations way beyond I imagined it would, Plays like a champ, sounds amazing has an awesome look to it, stays in tune, and the price you cant beat. I highly recommend this guitar from the beginner to the arena. Not kidding, this guitar is the real deal. I can't stop playing it. So if your leaning on the fence, go ahead and just buy one, trust me, you will not be disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!

    Incorrect specs for this guitar

    By Gary

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Red Royale Electric Guitar:

I have this guitar from Guitar Center. First the good. Outstanding fit and finish. Beautiful guitar. The binding is stunning. It sounds great and looks great. But this guitar does not have Probuckers or coil tapping. If you go to the Epiphone web site you will see the correct specs. I confirmed this by pulling the pickups. They are the Epiphone Classic and Classic Plus pickups as stated on the Epiphone site. This is not a "Pro" model. It did sound good, but you get the Classics sound. No ProBuckers here.

    Incredible Les Paul

    By Ted

    from Carlisle,Pa

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Red Royale Electric Guitar:

I own 40+ electrics, Have been playing for 41 years so I think I know guitar enough to give a valid review. I just stopped in GC to kill 15 minutes, This caught my eye right away, The finish and pearl binding are stunning in person. I walked by it a few times looking closer each time then I couldn't take it so I grabbed it and OMG! It felt as awesome as it looked! VERY solid and hefty (I like that in a Les Paul)So next came a few riffs an licks, WOW! feels like my 3k LP! So while still unplugged, I check for fret buzz, NONE! Not on any string on any fret. This is with really nice action already set. All that was left to do was plug her in! This thing sounds like my 81 Gibson LP CUSTOM! and the neck is super! Of course for 449.00 I had to have it. Even though I already have a 1/2 dozen LPs. I have had it 2 weeks now and its been getting the most play time out of the 40+ I am just blown away that this is an Epiphone. The craftsmanship and finish are top notch. Comparable to my best Gibson LPs. If you want an incredible axe for CHEAP, Pick one of these up!
