for anyone wondering this guitar is insane for the price. i own my share of expensive guitars but i also enjoy finding cheap guitars that can hold their own. i picked this guitar up at my local g.c. just to play around on and was impressed with its action so i plugged it in and was i surprised. so i decided to buy it and when i got home i hooked it up to my metal zone and nothing but insane sounds followed. wonderful clean tones and distortion has a nice fat crunch to it. if your looking for something fun to add to your lineup this is it.

I bought this guitar on a whim and at first wished I didn't. The one I got seemed like a lemon. The 8th & 16th frets buzz like there's no tomorrow, the stock tuners can't hold tuning to save their lives and the stock wraparound bridge will not intonate no matter what I do. I was about to return it when I discovered it makes a mean slide guitar when you crank the action up a bit. That's the strong point of my particular Epi Jr. though. I've played other version of the Jr. and they've all been WAY better than mine. So try before you buy is the best advice I got. If you think it doesn't play good, pass on it & go for the Epiphone Les Paul Special II with the 2 P-90 pickups. If you want a cool side guitar, then go for it but at least replace the stock tuners like I did with mine.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Junior Special Electric Guitar:

I use it for my own personal enjoyment. The best thing about it is that it's an Epiphone guitar, usually meaning it's of great quality, but it's also affordable. Sleek and smooth, simple but still beautiful. Strings and tuning pegs are great. Sound is perfectly fine.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Junior Special Electric Guitar:

An okay guitar once set up, but I was under the assumption (from purchases of instruments from other companies) that guitars should arrive with at least a basic set-up. This one arrived in unplayable condition. Neck was completely flat (if not bowed backward) and open strings and anything below the 6th fret would not play. At about the 9th fret you could get the correct note if fretted, below that it wouldn't work. Mind you, I'm not talking about fret buzzing a little. Luckily I figured out how to adjust the truss rod myself with help from youtube.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Junior Special Electric Guitar:

I've played guitar for 45+ years and have several Fender strats as well as a variety of acoustic guitars. I wanted an inexpensive axe I could just keep laying around, rather than the more collectible ones that I keep in their cases. After playing a rather tired old Epiphone Jr. (badly in need of fresh tuners) I was impressed with the feel of the neck, so decided to check out the new ones since the price was so affordable. I'm quite pleased with the feel and action of the fretboard, and find the tone is quite variable depending on where I'm picking the strings and the balance between the tone and volume knobs. In the past I've owned a 1967 Les Paul gold-top and a 1968 ES-335, and I'm enjoying playing this little Epiphone as much as those much more expensive guitars. It stays in tune quite well and the harmonics on the neck are accurate. It's the first addition to my collection in years, and well worth it.

Comments about Les Paul Junior Special Electric Guitar:

The Epi LP Special is a good deal for someone who is looking for a decent quality guitar at a low price. I use them for slide playing, tuning them in open tuning. Also the scale and feel is close to my Gibson Les Pauls.
Would be a great guitar for a beginner also. Built solid with great tone.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Junior Special Electric Guitar:

Easy action, great sound -- this guitar wants to rock! To my semi-novice ear, it sounds a lot like the Les Paul Special II I'd been borrowing. It kicks butt on the Billy Idol and Queens of the Stone Age songs our band has been covering, and with a clean amp setting it's nice and warm. I am really happy with Leslie Junior.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Junior Special Electric Guitar:

This is my first 6 string. I wanted something solid, and simple, simple, simple. I'm the sort that will fiddle endlessly if given half a chance, so 1 pickup is plenty. The tone varies quite a bit between volume and tone pots. I just use the tone knob at full volume to select the right amount of mids and highs and roll back the volume to get the tone just right. Takes just a few seconds and I'm in business. Getting a warmer sound is easy. It really sounds like you have two pickups. The intonation is accurate to about 3 cents on all strings right out of the box. The neck was perfectly flat out of the box so needed a truss rod adjustment. I can see why so many pros like the junior. It's a great, fun guitar to play on. This is a keeper.
