Overview

The Les Paul Junior was first introduced by our legendary Kalamazoo factory in 1954 and was intended as an affordable way for beginners to get the look, sound, and feel of a real Les Paul. However, the Les Paul Junior quickly became a legend of its own. Throughout the years and in all its many incarnations, the Les Paul Junior has been an on-stage favorite for artists like Leslie West of Mountain, Keith Richards, Paul Westerberg of the Replacements, and John Lennon, who all embraced the Les Paul Junior for its lighter weight, commanding sound, and all-mahogany body.

Today, the Epiphone Les Paul Junior is still the best way for beginners to get started on a full-size guitar with real vintage Les Paul tone. And if the Les Paul Junior's rock and roll history wasn't enough to convince you, check out Rocksmith, the breakthrough guitar video game which features the Epiphone Les Paul Junior as its go-to guitar!

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Junior Electric Guitar White:

With a 24.75 inch scale length and a medium jumbo fret size, The Les Paul Junior was originally designed for beginners but due to its beauty, simplicity and tone it has managed to build an established presence amongst many famous rockstars like Billie Joe Armstrong, John Lennon and Keith Richards. From the solid mahogany body and neck, to the classy alpine white color and glossy finish, this guitar manages to emit a ray of hope in its presence. The simplicity of having 1 volume knob, 1 tone knob and 1 humbucker pickup demonstrates this guitars dedication to rock.

Upon first grasp, I could tell that this is a first class product. The build quality is superb and the guitar feels solid in the hand. Fitted with 10 gauge D'Addario strings, out of the box the action is great. The frets are level (as they should be) emitting no fret buzz. The tone from the 700T Humbucker has been a wonderful surprise as I was not expecting it to sound as good as it did. I will be replacing it in the future with a Seymour Duncan but this does not discredit the quality of this pickup in any way. Epiphone have done a great job producing a guitar of this caliber at an affordable price point.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Junior Electric Guitar White:

I saw Feist playing her Gibson Les Paul Junior, and I was intrigued. A Junior is a ballsy choice for a guitar: single pickup, so once you find a playable Junior your sound completely depends on the touch your fingers and how you dial your controls and your amp.

My Epiphone Les Paul Junior, white, made in Indonesia 2015 is perhaps the funnest toy I've played with in years--even funner than my silly $20 aerial mini-drone. The Epi Junior feels light but substantial, the pickup is good (but it won't produce the richer tones that you'll really need when you play into an amp sim in a DAW--two-pickup Les Pauls or 5-way Stratocasters are vastly better), the neck and fingerboard are absolutely terrific (except for the only flaw in my Junior: a few upper frets arrived scratched so I can't bend way up high--I'll try to smooth them out with steel wool when I get a chance), the tone knob once got loose but I fixed it with a thin wrench no trouble, the electronic housing compartment is shielded, the body is solid wood (not composite), the tuners are adequate (but bad compared with my MIM Strat and my Gibson Les Paul Studio--people say the Epi Junior tuners are easy to swap if you find Grovers with the right measurements), put a new set of strings on your Junior and stretch them and you'll stay in tune with the weather.

What really matters is that this guitar is incredibly fun to play. It feels almost effortless, both because it's quite a good feeling instrument and because it's so cheap you can be really bold with it. This won't be your last guitar, it won't be your go-to performance guitar, but it will be the guitar you have lying around the house to tinker around your ideas on while your three-year-old bumps around with it. And it will be the guitar you throw at the last minute into your car with your fender mustang 1 to go to your friend's beach house to jam.

I'd buy one if I were you.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Junior Electric Guitar White:

Ive been playing 25 years and have owned tons of guitars and I love to make a cheap guitar sound awesome. This model (white) is made in indonesia and has a great feel. I have an old indonesian Epi special 2 that feels awesome too ( red with black hardware). Chinese made Epi Juniors are hit and miss as I have never played 2 of them that feel the same , but the Indo ones are awesome. Had to file the nut slots a bit. The truss rod had NO tension at all when I bought it..so that needed to be adjusted. I use 10-52 strings and the neck seems up to the tension. Speaking of which, the neck is wide like a gibson. 1.69 at the nut and 2.3 at the 21st fret on mine. Pickup has a LOT of chime but is very HOT. Tuners look like the same junky tuners they have used for years, but mine are super smooth and tight and I would bet they have better "guts" than the older versions. Quite good really. I have played a dozen different Epi juniors over the years and I would say this current model is at least as good if not the best one yet. I have an old plywood bodied Chinese epi jr that is rock solid and sounds great too. Cant speak for the other colors as I did pick up a sunburst Jr at the store ( current model) that was made in china and it did feel different. The current WHITE model gets a huge thumbs up! Frets were great. pots work perfect. finish is nice. tuners are great. A+
