What came in this box package is not what I was expecting. I was just looking for a guitar to play around on and get back to playing. What I got was a solid guitar and a nice little practice amp. The guitar is solid. Good sound from the humbuckers. The action is nice. The strings seem decent but I'm going to change them anyway. The practice amp is just that, a practice amp. Some people complain a lot about practice amps but after all, they are just for practice. This one is solidly built. Good sounds. The clean is clean and the distortion has a hard crunch. Fiddle around with it and you can get a few other tones out of it. It is a great pack for beginners and intermediate players and those of us who haven't played in a few years. I did replace the cable that came with it with a Quantum Audio Designs 10ft cable because the cheap one is really cheap. The tuner that comes with this is tiny, but it does a great job. If you are looking for Les Paul sound with out the Les Paul standard price, this is the one.

This guitar pack accomplished two things: 1) it got me playing guitar cheaply and 2) it got me looking forward to replacing it. I am quite amazed how this this has such great reviews. It is very frustrating to play. Any and all chords except for open C, E and G sound out of tune, due to such poor intonation, and that's even after paying $50 extra to have it professionally set up. I'm new to the guitar but I'm not new to music so out of tune chords stand out like a sore thumb to me. Also the fret buzz is pretty bad. I would recommend this guitar to kids and/or those with no musical experience, and then only for a year tops.. Once the fledgling musician demonstrates a commitment, it should be replaced. I was only fully able to appreciate how bad this guitar was after buying a used MiM Stratocaster, which after playing this one, I was amazed at how good it sounded when I plugged it in.

Great beginner package

By GLENN WEATHERSPOON

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Electric Guitar Player Pack:

Very solid guitar with only one flaw. The open coil humbuckers deliver better than average sound. The amp is a great little unit for practice and the accessory package is a great value. Now to that flaw. The tuners are hit or miss, and a bit vague. You could do much worse as a choice for a beginner.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Electric Guitar Player Pack:

I am a new guitar player, I had been teaching myself on a cheap acoustic for abpout a year and struggling with chords and not being able to play long because the guitar was not properly set up and was cheap. I purchased the Les Paul for two reasons; first it had everything I needed to get started and second if felt better in my hands than the acoustic or other popular brand did and I was able to play a F chord immediately at the store. I have had the guitar about 10 days now and I am able to play about 2 - 4 hours a day with little pain in the fingers and out of the box the action was pretty good, I am going to take it back in to have it properly set up, because I am noticing that some of the notes seem to go flat the further down the neck that I go, but I can not blame the guitar for that, it just needs proper setting up. This is a great guitar I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a starter kit or a guitar to user around the house. The 10w amp is what it is, don't expect stadium quality sound from it, but it is nice for practicing at the house.

    Love it!

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Electric Guitar Player Pack:

I bought this thinking that I was just getting a semi cheap guitar and amp. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of both the guitar and amp. The guitar is built solidly. Nice sound, tone and feel. The guitar was what I have been looking for for a long time. The amp is loud but gets a little muddied when on its all the way up. But hey, it's a practice amp.Good sounds and decent tones. Great set up for those beginning for the forst time or those wanting to start again.

    Best deal for the money

    By mark lewis

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Electric Guitar Player Pack:

I was very impressed with what we got in the box. Purchased two player packs for Christmas. We also purchased two copies of Rocksmith 2014 that has been very helpful and fun also helps in tuning guitar. So the guitars are heavy but that is the model style. They sound amazing very well built. The only thing we had to do was tighten nut on toggle and tighten tiny screws on the tuning handles. The carry bag is nice. The amp is great for practice not many control options or input options but still very nice. Much better than we expected nice clean sound no buzzing. Does not come with pickguard. Strap is not the most comfortable but does the job. If your starting out or what a inexpensive guitar to jam on you can't go wrong. If it is for a child get the extended warranty. We got ours at local GUitar Center. Very happy get one or two they are cheap.

    Great value

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Electric Guitar Player Pack:

I purchased the item with modest expectations and was pleasantly surprised by the value of the player pack. The guitar is very playable and feels sturdy and the amp is what you'd expect for a practice amp. After hooking up a Digitech RP155 that I got for a steal on eBay I was floored. The sound coming out of the little practice amp blew away my expectations. I am a casual player who hadn't played much in recent years and wanted to play more so I went with the Player Pack mainly because of the price and couldn't be more pleased. I bought the Guitar Center warranty and made use of it as I did get a bit of noise when turning the volume know on the guitar up and down. I was given great customer service and a new instrument. I did have the same issue however with the replacement but it was a minor annoyance that somehow completely went away when I put the Digitech between the guitar and the amp. Once again, I am extremely please with the Player Pack. Even the included tuner works great and is very easy to use. I would recommend this item.

    Decent starter

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Electric Guitar Player Pack:

I bought this for myself for Christmas and I'm a new guitar learner. I had it setup at guitar center and glad I did. The intonation was a little off but most adjustments were not far off. I also had Ernie ball regular slinky 10 guage strings installed and to my new guitar ear this starter guitar sounds good. The amp is pretty basic but is good enough to get started on your way. Also I signed up for lessons through jamplay which is a great place to learn. Very happy so far

    Wow Nice

    By Martin Schweitzer

    from North Platte, Ne

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Electric Guitar Player Pack:

I just received this package today and I am floored in how well it sounds. it is heavy but it's not too bad. The strap is a little annoying but I am just beginning. As for the amp it's a practice amp period. It's great for practicing on. The cable seems a little cheap. All I suggest is taking any new guitar that was ordered online to a music store and have it set up to your playing style. It just makes it much easier to learn on a properly set up guitar. Out of the box this guitar is set up pretty well. I will say the 3 way toggle is a bit touchy. I sometimes have to flip back and forth to get it to work. All in all its a really good guitar.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Electric Guitar Player Pack:

I got my first Electric Guitar 55 years ago (The brand is not important). Since then I have owned a 1968 Pre CBS Fender Telecaster, a 1987 Fender Stratocaster (MIJ) which I still have (I'll never part with that!).
Last year I visited the Gibson Guitar Factory in Memphis and bought and Epi SG Special which blew me away with tonal quality and screaming performance. Now I have added the Les Paul Special II LE. This Instrument gives instant solid sound and is so easy to play!! Having Arthritis in my left hand playing has become a challenge however this LP is so comfortable in my hands it seems like I am a kid again. Lead and chord progressions are so much easier with this I can play every day without pain which to me is a blessing. If you have a desire to play an Electric guitar, you have to start here...there is nothing else like this out there at a better price. Les Paul was not kidding when he called Epiphone guitars "Fine Instruments"
