I purchased this beauty last year and it can take a beating never goes out of tune amazing sustain fantastic chrunch and decent clean sound the guitar itself is very well made however there were a few very minor problems out of the box the imput jack nut fell off and the imput fell into the guitar i fixed it though but other than that I plan on getting another soon, without having to pay a fortune, did i mention it out played every Gibson ive ever played (ive played a lot of Gibsons).........
I recently purchased a new Fender American Stratocaster and two weeks later, on a whim, purchased this beautiful flametop Epiphone LP. Immediately I found myself wanting to spend more time with the Epiphone in my hands which is hard to rationalize since I paid twice the price for the Strat. I believe its a combination of the warmer tones, low end bite and sexy body contours with the expensive looking flametop maple finish. The Strat is really kind of bland looking when comparing the gloss black alder wood to the variations and intensity of color of the LP. The craftmanship and hardware are certainly of quality that lead me to believe this quitar will hold up for the long term; except possibly for some loss of the gold platting on the pick ups and bridge. The flametop stays in tune and is lighter than the Gibson Cousin. Frankly, I used to own a Gibson L-6S which was like carrying a bag of stones on your shoulder and it would never stay in tune no matter the number of adjustments. Sure, guitar afficionatos may poo poo the fact that my guitar was "manufactured" in China and does not have the cachet of a Gibson. But for my money this quitar's overall quality is probably 85 to 90 percent of the Gibson Les Paul but at 20 percent of the price. My recommendation is to not follow the crowd. Try it and judge for yourself!
I've had this guitar for around 3 years, and I havent played a guitar for this money that can rock so hard. The rosewood fretboard is very fast, and I've never had a problem with any part of the guitar. It's pretty versitle, but I reach for a different guitar when I play jazz. You will not find a better guitar for this price though. If you slap on some Gibson '57 Pickups, then you will pretty much have a Gibson Les Paul for a third of the price. Les Paul would be proud.
This is the first LP I have ever owned, just picked it up in the store today. I really enjoy switching between the buclers and turning down tones for a 'muddy' classic blues sound and also being able just to crank it out and have a rockin' solo with awesome sound. I would definatly recommend this for first time Les Paul owners as well as seasoned vets. Same great sounds as a Gibson for a lot more reasonable price! Plus the sunburst with gold looks very hot!
I bought the heritage cherry sunburst flametop and this is a beautiful guitar. Finish is flawless, built solid, stays in tune well, and has nice low action. The stock pickups sound good and have alot of crunch, but I wanted something with a little more clarity and replaced them with Gibson Burstbuckers. This did take away some of the crunch, but now leads sound more pronounced, and chords are a little clearer. I've had mine for a year and had no problems with it. Try out one of these if you like Les Pauls.
The epiphone made an even better impression on me when i purchased this guitar 5 years ago. I think its safe to say i will never purchase another brand of guitar. this guitar has sustained the beatings i've given it for over 5 years now and i've kept everything original.the only problem i have had is the input has finally started to go on me but other than that truely amazing for price and quality.
This guitar is not only a beautiful one, but it plays amazingly. I've never played one like it. It's by far the best guitar i own.
I never thought I would say it but the chinese make better guitars than us americans! This axe is absolutely unbelievable. I bought my flametop a couple of days ago at guitar center in Fort Worth for $619 and is by far the highest quality, best sounding guitar I have ever owned or played. Sustain is amazing, great pick-ups! Finish is flawless, beautiful, perfect. I don't see how Gibson sells Les Pauls when you can get this Epi for one third the price! I highly recommend this stunning guitar to those of you who are about to spend alot more on a Gibson. Steven at Guitar Center in Fort Worth, Texas put some VR-9's on mine and it sings, I can't say enough, this is one sweet guitar.
This has to be the best guitar i ever bought. For the price it is amazing. The finish on it is the best i've seen especialy on the neck. The sound is great it plays well for any style of music. This is a great guitar i suggest if you want a les paul don't buy a gibson 1.their expensive 2. you can the same quality if not better quality with a epiphone les paul.
