I ordered this guitar and got it in five days. I've played it quite a bit since then, and I love the sound. The only thing is that the plastic parts on the body are not very high quality, with little chips or malformation here or there. And the guitar has tiny dings in the paint on the back, not sure if it's shipping damage or not. But other than those things, I love the guitar, and the way it sounds. I have been playing for five years, but only started getting serious recently, and love the way it sounds compared to my old guitar, a Johnson. It has four dials which allow you to change the guitar's sound completely, and back in the flick of a switch. I also love the design and the easy system it has to change the strings. I recommend this guitar for anyone who is starting to get serious or starting to get good, as it has a great sound. Probably a good second guitar.

This guitar is amazing the first six months.
I bought this guitar in November of 2014.
One employer from the guitar center persuaded me to purchase the guitar, telling me things such as the brand Epiphone(especially this guitar) was better than Ibanez guitar that I was looking for.
By the end, I bought the guitar, and I liked so much, until the day when the guitar needs a setup.
I paid almost 300$ including the taxes, but when I come back to the guitar center to set up my guitar one year later, the luthier from the store told me that my guitar had twisted the neck.
To repair all the imperfections of my guitar could cost me around 250$ dollar almost the same prices as new.
When I asked the luthier why the neck was twisted, he answers me back telling me that only happened with junk guitar from small prices. In few words is a piece of junk that cost almost 300 dollars, but the only good thing is the design of a real Les paul.

My recommendation is to wait litle more time to save 200 dollars more and expend the money in other guitar. For example an Ibanez or a Fender Standard made in Mexico have better quality and sound than this guitar.

Great Guitar

By LesPaulRoker

from Fresno CA

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul 100 Electric Guitar:

The Les Paul 100 is a great guitar, beginner or not, this Les Paul is one for the books. The neck is a bolt on neck that stays perfectly in shape. The tuners are perfect, the Humbuckers are exraordinary for the price. The LP 100 is my #1 choice for Epiphone guitars for those about to rock.

Awsome Guitar

By Francisco

from Moore Haven Fl

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul 100 Electric Guitar:

Well to first start off. The guitar is a awsome guitar, really easy to play. That's what epiphone does best. My cousin owns a SG (epiphone) Once i played his guitar.....i loved it! I loved how easy and comfortable they felt! So i told my self, i have to get me a epiphone. I went to my nearest guitar center. I came across this Les Paul. For the price, plus i bought it cheaper since i did the trade in. (extra 10% off price shown) This guitar is for any player that is starting to improve in his skills. Or an exprence player!

Better than the more expensive epiphones

By Brandon Perez

from Milford, CT

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul 100 Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar during their huge labor day sale last year and this guitar is amazing. I play metal and hard rock and this guitar can compete with any other metal guitar. I didnt expect the sound out of this guitar to be so good. This guitar feels and sounds better than every epiphone les paul ive ever played. The only problem i had with it was it needed a set up when i changed the strings. But if you need a good les paul at a low price you have to buy this guitar.

A Very Cool Guitar!

By Randy M

from Bertram, Texas

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul 100 Electric Guitar:

I got the Les Paul 100 (Cherry Sunburst) for Christmas and haven't put it down since. This is my first guitar with Double Humbuckers and I can't believe the tone and sound I get with it! I have an Ibanez Road Star 2 Strat, and a Fender Telecaster. The LP 100 is my favorite to play out of the 3. I couldn't beleive how light this guitar is and easy to play. The Cherry Sunburst paint is gorgeous! I would highly recommend this guitar to anyone thinking about buying it. It is well worth the price!

Pleasant surprise

By Brian

from Lakeland, Florida

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul 100 Electric Guitar:

I'm kicking myself for not buying this guitar first. I learned on an Ibanez and i wish I had started out with this one. It has great tone and fantastic sustain. This baby is perfect for drop D tuning, a regular blues machine, and a metal monster. If you are just starting out, buy this guitar. You will not be disappointed.

Worst guitar I've ever bought

By Babbalou

from Lewisville, Texas

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul 100 Electric Guitar:

This is the guitar that taught me to set up the action & intonation at the store, NOT after I get home. The action was like a cello & I found out why when I got home. The frets buzzed like crazy as I lowered the bridge. Tweaked the truss rod & it still buzzed. Filed some frets but it wasn't enough. Took it to a local luthier who wanted $100 "possibly more" to get it right. Pawned it for $75. Funny but up until then that was the most expensive electric I'd ever bought. I've had 6 cheaper electrics over the years that played way better than this chunk of driftwood. Try before you buy.

I own a Strat, but...

By Chris Dowling

from Freeport, ME

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul 100 Electric Guitar:

My LP-100 is by far my favorite guitar. I also own 2 acoustics. Although I own 4 guitars, I spend about 95% of my playing time with the LP-100. Awesome bargain: terrific finish, a gem to look at, solid feel, terrific warm tone- clean or with distortion. I'm in love!

Great Value & Hard to Beat

By Doug

from Albany, Oregon

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul 100 Electric Guitar:

I had the LP-100 and sold it and regret having sold it!! IT is a terrific guitar for the money. You'll be hard pressed to find a guitar with the playability, tone, quality and looks anywhere near hte price range. The LP-100 has a decent neck and good humbucker pickups. It is light weight, which is nice for playing while either sitting or standing when jamming or practicing. I actually missed my old Cherry Sunburst LP-100 and am thinking of getting another!!

GREAT GUITAR

By Old Timer

from New Hampshire

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul 100 Electric Guitar:

This is my second guitar since I began playing again after being away for many years. I played for about 6 months with the set up that it had when I bought it, and it was great, so I thought. I finally got around to doing a correct set up on it and the sound and playability just improved dramatically from what was very good. Don't hesitate on this one, it is a keeper. I wasn't crazy about the bolt on neck at first but it has been perfect. Although the pick-ups sound very good with this new set up I may upgrade them to something a little better at some point soon, but it is not a necessity. I would only do it so that I could split coils when I want to. As I said before don't hesitate on this one. This is a great guitar for a great price. Be smarter than me and set it up correctly when you first get it.

Good For Begginers

By Carlos

from Everett, WA

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul 100 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is perfect for for beginers. As a bigginer you will love this guitar and learn to understand what makes every guitar diffrent from one and another. Over time though, you will begin to realize that this guitar requires too much action, like its hard on your wrist and hands when playing aggressive power chords. And there is not enough tension at the tail peice for sustain. And when you tune as low as dropped B, it will cause some frettbuz at the 6th and 5th string. It is definetly not worth modifying this guitar. Better to just buy a better one. But it is still definitly a good guitar for begginers.

Perfect, just what a wanted

By TJ

from Yorkville IL

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul 100 Electric Guitar:

Every since I startred playing guitar ( 3 1/2 years ago) I have wanted my own Les Paul. Now I've got one. This guitar is exactly what i wanted. Although when I looked at the pictures online, it look ugly, but this guitar is buetiful. If there is no distortion, it can sound like it would be in the sound of music, thats how warm it sounds. But I can also play some classic GnR and AC/DC. This guitar is great for any player, blue, jazz, rock, you name it. I tried it in the store and played one cord and told my dad this was perfect. None of the frets buzz at all. This guitar is great, but make sure you play it and make sure that it is perfect for you. ;)

By Iman

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul 100 Electric Guitar:

I love this guitar. Ive had it for about six months and the sound I've gotten out of it is amazing! Its just as good as the standard and to me, I prefure it to the standered. It has a more round feeling to it and the neck is peffect for rock, and blues. I love this guitar and recamend it to any one, begginers, and experts.

Incredible Guitar!

By Bill Casey

from San Diego, CA

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul 100 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is incredible. It has great sound quality, great tones, and works for many styles of music! The Rhythm and Treble feature is great for song with just standard rhythm with a solo. The input jack is tough for you to put your cable in and take out, but at least it stays in very well! Goes out of tune when you first buy it, (just like most guitars), but if you play it for about 2 hours, it stays tuned pretty well. Great sounding guitar for an incredible value.

Very good sound and feel

By Derrick

from Cincinnati, OH

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul 100 Electric Guitar:

As other have mentioned in the reviews for this guitar, both the sound and feel of this guitar are great. I'm a bass player, but I wanted to buy a decent guitar to learn on, and I'm confident that I picked the best sounding and best priced guitar to meet that goal. I can't afford a Gibson Les Paul, but I left Guitar Center feeling like I got the next best thing. I bought this guitar in the Cherryburst color, and I have to say that the photos on this site do not do it justice. I really don't have any gripes with this guitar. Some say that the knobs don't feel right, but I disagree; they seem high quality to me. The only other gripe I've heard about this from others is that it doesn't stay in tune, but I haven't had much issue with that either. Go to Guitar Center and try it out, I'm confident that you'll be taking it home shortly after.

Awesome Guitar!

By LESPAULsupport234

from Tuscon, AZ

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul 100 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is a very good guitar, and just for this little money, it is the best value ever! Plays just as well as a Gibson Les Paul and has mostly the same tone. Just bought one a little while ago, played Purple Haze on it, and almost died of happiness. Definitely worth the $$, the neck is slim, the knobs are great, has the same Les Paul feel, but the tuners could use an upgrade. Perfect guitar for beginners, great for intermediate, and it can still blow you away if you are an extremely good player!

Epiphone LP-100

By Eric

from Euegen, Oregon

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul 100 Electric Guitar:

I play punk and ska and i got this guitar because pretty much anything you play on it sounds good, I suggest using the Treble pickup, it sounds great but the rest sound bad. The tone of this guitar holds up for any genre you try playing, trust me it works for punk, hardcore, ska and metal even sounds great on it. I use a Line 6 Spider II with this guitar and all the settings and effects sound amazing on it. The treble pickup gives off a really good sound for power chords, chords, and solos.

Absolutely Excellent!!!

By Clasicr0k13

from Oakland, NJ

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul 100 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is extraordinary! I've played for 2 years now, but I still take some lessons. My teacher says that if someone were to start a gig with a classic LP and change to this guitar and finish the gig, the crowd would not hear the difference. I agree. Great power sound, but it can sound extremely mellow. It has served me well.
