Last night, I went to visit GC with my dad, seeking the Hummingbird; seeing if it lived up to its expectations. When I held it in my lap, it fitted right in with my body. When I played it, it sounded so melodic, even with the original strings on it (though it would be better to change the strings to some D'Addarios). The bass was not too low or high, and the neck was easy to slide up on. The price is the best for this wonderful Epiphone. I'd suggest this guitar for anyone that can play. The color in the pictures is way too light. I fell in love with the sunburst, even though it usually isn't my color.

Nice guitar but not great. Overall construction is good. Get a lot of compliments on the color, etc. Ya got to admit the cherry sunburst and embellished pick guard does make for a nice looking guitar.

When I put it in to be setup the overall construction was pretty good except for 3 high frets that were fixed easily for 35 bucks. I found this guitar stays in tune pretty well also.

The strings that came on it are terrible, trebly and twangy. Put Martin FX130 custom light strings on it and it got a much more favorable rich sound but a tiny bit of fret buzz. Went to Martin SP7100 (12) strings and now its perfect for practice and jamming with a buddy that plays a pretty mean harp.

I just picked up a Martin DX1RAE and of course there is no comparison in construction nor sound/tone so if I were to look at this purchase with the old 20/20 hindsight I would save my money on the Epi Hummingbird and throw it into a nice Martin.

Comments about Epiphone Hummingbird Acoustic Guitar:

It came really well packed and fast delivery too.It arrives in perfect condition. The guitar sounds really beautiful and it's fun to play, now I'm practicing more than I used to.I love my new Epi and I think it worth the money.I have a Fender Strat, but I would love to buy an EPI Les Paul Tribute with the Gibson's 57 pick ups it has some very nice reviews and they said that it sounds even crunchier than the Fender Strat. Will see?

I've always wanted a Gibson Hummingbird Guitar but could never afford one. I decided to try the next best thing. I am totally satisfied with my Epipnone Hummingbird. Sometimes the next best is the best.I play a lot more than I used to now that I have my new Ebony Humming bird.

Comments about Epiphone Hummingbird Acoustic Guitar:

This guitar is a masterpiece in itself. If you think that this will be a waste of money you are wrong. I got this guitar years ago, and I promise you the tone of this guitar is amazing. All I get from other people is praise about how beautiful it is and how beautiful it sounds. All I reccommend is that you strap on some Martin SP string and put a PlanetWave Sound hole in this, and it will be perfect.

Comments about Epiphone Hummingbird Acoustic Guitar:

I like the bright clear sound without too much low end rumble over overtones that some jumbos have. I preferred the sound of the hummingbird over thedove and actually tried both the Gibson and Epiphone models at their factory in Nashville several years ago. I was sold on the Epi Hummingbird then for its sound and beautifil color. I have played it in a small cafe setting and a large outside courtyard with a Bill Lawerence soundhole pickup with great results.

This is not a Gibson by feel, sound, build, or price.
This guiar looks good and plays good and is a good value nothing special and certainly it does not sound like or play like a Gibson but it is good for what it is

I've recently purchased the epi dove and was not impressed with the neck problems, but this guitar is as good as it gets.Looks, fit and finish.sound, resonates equally the high and low tones, and the playability is that of a much pricier guitar. I wish the dove was as good.Do not hesitate to try a Hummingbird and I hope everyone has the same results.very fine instrument and beautiful too.
