Look, I've been playing guitar for over 20 years. I own 12 guitars including Gibson, Taylor, and Washburn and several Epiphones. The truth about Epiphone? They play just as well and sound just as good as my more expensive guitars. Don't listen to the posers try to tell you that Epiphones are not as good as a Gibson or Fender. I also own the above Epiphone Goth and I now use it as my main guitar when our band plays gigs. I play it constantly and I play it hard. It has held up beautifully. Epiphone has made another quality guitar at a price that anyone can afford.

This guitar looks amazing. That is what initially drew me to it. The guitar looks very clean, yet still flashy enough. I love the art on the headstock and on the 12th fret. As far as playability goes, I play this guitar through a Peavey 5150 Head and a Peavey XXX Cab and it sounds awesome!!! It's great even for Metal. The pickups are decent sounding. Put some EMGs or Seymour Duncs in this beast and it screams! The neck is very comfortable with it's 22 frets and very smooth, fast fretboard. And the last thing I'm commenting on is the weight. Wow. Light, yet durable. Perfect weight for the average sized guitarist. I would recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a great practice, studio, or live guitar. I have had it for almost 2 years now and it is still shredding. Buy this if you want a great guitar but have a small budget.

Epiphone Goth Studio Electric

By Goth

from Cgeraw, SC

Comments about Epiphone Goth Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:

Dude, this guitar is so awesome. I mean the sound is really nice. It can be a very clean to a heavy distortion tone. The features are good. Like any normal Les Paul. The quality is great. Evreything is the best. The finish, tuners, everything. And the price is right. An awesome guitar for 299.00 on sale. For this good quality, (Epiphone is gettin ripped off). Overall its good. But you will need to rub the fingerprint residue of the body of the guitar. Or you'll have finger places everywhere. But it makes it look sorta camofloage too. Awesome guitar for an awesome price. Buy it if you like it.

First Electric

By Ryan

from Pickerington, Ohio

Comments about Epiphone Goth Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar a few years back and I am still using it. It was my first electric guitar and it has proved its self an amazing guitar time and time again. The tuning pegs are very nice and the neck feels very nice in your hand. The soft matte black paint is very nice, it doesn't pick up finger prints at all. The guitar over all has a very nice sound and I love it. I highly recommend this guitar to beginners and even the more experienced guitarists!

Great guitar

By Jester

from Texas

Comments about Epiphone Goth Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:

I went into a Guitar Center not intended on purchasing anything and walked out with this guitar. When I first bought it, the guitar seemed a bit to heavy for me (sound wise, and physical weight) and the sound was too hot. But it began to grow on me and it is my main guitar now I love that thing. It's stock pickups are pretty good for an epiphone, although I would love to put some EMGs in it, then it will be the perfect beast. Overall, it's a great guitar for its price. It does chip and dent easily, but that does not effect it's trashing sound. I get compliments on it all the time. Definitely worth it's price.

Very Good Guitar

By Richie

from PTY Panaḿ

Comments about Epiphone Goth Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:

Well I've been playing for about two years. and played about 15 guitars already. My friend owns this guitar, the funny part is that he is at the piano and I am the lead guitar, anyways... we play any type of style and this guitar can hold them all. The price is waaayyyy to good for what you are getting. The guitar is not a fingerprints magnet, the playability of the neck is very good (is you are planning to go from an acoustic to this one... I do recommend it, it will only take about 1 or 2 weeks or less to get use to it). The humbuckers have a pretty decent sound also, you can go from a blues sound to a very metal kind of sound.. By the way you should get a lock strap just in case, there is a 35 to 40% of chances that it will fall from your strap. The comfort of the body is very decent also. It's a little bit heavy thou. Overall I would give this guitar a 9.5.

Love it! Love it! Love it!

By That dude

Comments about Epiphone Goth Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:

I looked at a lot of guitars in this price range before settling on this one. It was the right decision. This thing looks and plays awesome. The action is super-low right out of the gate with no fret buzz at all. This thing plays SLICK! The Alinco humbuckers kick out a great sound especially with an overdriven amp! The controls are super smooth and the treble pickup tone control has a clip switch built in so you can clip it out just by tapping it. Cool. I've played everything from blues to metal through it and while it has a darker tone regardless, it handles different styles beautifully. My only complaint, and it is a very minor one, is that it is a bit heavy. Oh, and people love this guitar. I have 5 guitars on stands in my office/practice room. Guess which one everyone wants to see and play? Buy this guitar, you will not regret it!!!!

Comments about Epiphone Goth Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:

This is my second guitar and honestly I can't stand not playing it, I love it so much, it looks wicked and sounds nasty! This baby gets 2 thumbs way WAY up, I put Ernie Ball Skinny top Heavy Bottom strings on mine and I got to tell you, it sounds so heavy, I play out a Line 6 Spider III with the Boss Metal Zone pedal, all 3 go hand in hand, so Metal!

Better than I expected

By Gilligan

from South Dakota

Comments about Epiphone Goth Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:

This guitar is exactly what I hoped it would be. With the exception that it's not a Gibson, it's everything I wanted. Something I've seen a lot of people ask about is if there are any type of fret markers. Yes, there are, they're just small and on the side of the neck, so you can see them while you're playing, but they're not on the face of the neck itself. I've been playing this with a Line 6 Spider IV 75, and I really couldn't be happier. This is the first Epiphone I've owned, and I was somewhat concerned the Epiphone Les Paul was going to be cheap feeling and sounding. Not the case at all. It feels great, sounds great, and pickups can always be swapped. If you're thinking about it, do it.

Better Than A Gibson !!!!

By Jeffrey Osgood

from Woonsocket, R.I.

Comments about Epiphone Goth Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:

I got mine last week and needless to say, I am very impressed with both the quality of the build and the sound of this excellent guitar . I'm 53 years old and have been playing for 40 years and in that time , I've played just about everything from Fenders to Gibsons and I have to say that this is one of the best that I have ever come across. The stock Alnico open coil humbuckers provide plenty of tone and sustain whether you are playing on a clean or distorted setting and despite the Gothic appearance, this guitar is quite capable of handling and genre of music from Blues to Metal IMO. The Grover tuners keep this in tune forever and the Celtic Cross and XII inlays are cosmetically appealling to the eye as far as I'm concerned. I also like the Matte Black finish and for a Les Paul, it is very light on my shoulder . All in all, this blows away a majority of Gibson's lower priced stuff such as their Melody Makers and the Faded series line. I very highly recomend this guitar to anyone on a low budget who is considering a Les Paul. Well done Epiphone.

Comments about Goth Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:

Looks, feels, and plays great. A friend of mine brought over his Gibson Les Paul Studio to compare it to the Epiphone. Results: Gibson's pickups are hotter; Gibson's toggle switch is smoother. Otherwise, there was almost no difference between the two. Great way to rock out in style while saving hundreds of dollars.

Very satisfied.

By Adam Wilde

from camas, wa

Comments about Epiphone Goth Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:

I eyed this guitar for a couple years on the web, and waited from not having money or a good reason to get an electric. Then me and my drummer friend started to jam and the acoustic was not enough. Well I saved up and got it in a deal at guitar center and have been extremely satisfied. As others have said, this guitar is smooth to play, stays in tune, and just looks awesome. I am not a fan of shiny finishes, so this was perfect. Epiphone did a good job on this, and I feel it sounds great clean, and when you crank it up to be fatty, this black beauty delivers. I'm sure people can argue about how other guitars sound or play better, but for your money, the sound, and the look, this guitar is an excellent deal.

Love it!

Comments about Epiphone Goth Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:

I've had a few cheap First Act guitars for awhile now and I decided to buy a real deal one. This guitar caught my eye because of the clean pitch black 'goth' look and the Les Paul style. After reading all good reviews, I decided to give it a try. I LOVE this guitar. Although a little on the heavy side, it is very easy to play and handle. I highly recommend this guitar for both beginners and advanced players.
