Comments about Epiphone G-400 PRO Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

For the first-time buyer, this has the advantages of being light weight, good-looking, and adequate function. Most beginners run a cheap amp at high gain & have no real use for electronics beyond a pickup switch & a volume knob, making this as good a starter guitar as any & better-looking than many. Those with an ear for tone quality will find themselves wishing for better; playing one of these will help you determine if that includes you.
Believe it or not, I bought this guitar *after* owning a genuine Gibson SG (sold because its neck felt like a log). In that respect, the Epi Pro was better than that Gibson. In other respects, it is equal: light weight, easy to play. And I did like the idea of the coil-split feature ... until I heard it. You see, actual single-coil pickups don't have to be anemic, but splitting HB's isn't the same as using a Fender or P90s. A different (thinner) sound, which sounds lesser compared to the un-split setting.
To state the obvious, this is a low-budget guitar. Electronics are functional but not delightful; that would cost more. The tone pots are not really useful, the pickup sound is just OK, even when not split. Upper-fret access is amazing, assuming you'll go there. Shoulder fatigue can still happen, but you'll never stop marveling at how easy it is to wave around like a rock star. And you wouldn't be getting this if you didn't want to be a rock star, so go ahead and get one. You'll upgrade later if you need to, and you'll be glad you didn't spend more if you don't.

Comments about Epiphone G-400 PRO Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

The guitar is fantastic and the stock pickups sound really nice until you utilize the coil tapping option, and you lose about half of your volume. The bridge was also on backwards and one of the tone knobs was on crooked. Otherwise, absolutely no complaints. I absolutely adore this guitar.

      Fantastic Looks and Sound

Comments about Epiphone G-400 PRO Left-Handed Electric Guitar:

A complete newb, I picked up this left-hand G-400 PRO from Guitar Center because I wanted something different from my 3 kids' LP, Tele, and Strat. I'm very pleased with the feel of the guitar - lighter than the LP but nice tone. SGs being neck heavy, the PRO really benefits from the lightweight tuners. The new pickups put out great sound. Like I said, a compete newb but I am really enjoying learning to play on this instrument.
