I've been through plenty of guitars in my day. No, I'm not going to sit here and say I'm some master professional who has been playing for 60 years, but when it comes to guitars, I know what the deal is.

Ordered this guitar in the cherry finish, and it is absolutely beautiful. However, the pick guard is not the same style as pictured, but the smaller one. Can't complain, though, I actually like the look a little better.

I'm really digging these new pups that Epiphone has come out with. They closely resemble Gibson 57's in a way, but not exact. But, for stock pickups, you really can't beat them. I definitely won't mind waiting to replace them.

I have barely used the coil-split function yet, but when I have, it's a very fun function. It doesn't give you the same single-coil tone as a p90 would, but still has that familiar twang to it. Very nice additive. Sounds great clean, crunchy, and distorted.

I really like the Wilkinson tuners. I have yet to have a problem with it going in and out of tune, and they are really light and easy to fine-tune. The look of them is also a plus.

The action right out of the box is very nice. However, I would prefer mine a little lower, but that's nothing a professional set-up won't take care of.

All in all, this guitar is extremely fun to play, feels great from the moment you pick it up, and feels solid enough to last a long while. I am having no second thoughts and do not plan on returning. Recommended for sure!

This is a very nice guitar and sounds great. But I think putting PRO in the model is not realistic. For an advanced player you may consider a real Gibson SG. After one week of playing it I noticed a couple things that should be taken into consideration. The neck is flexible. Lifting or moving the guitar causes a minor tuning shift. Not sure if an adjustment to the neck would fix this. The other thing has to do with the knobs. I noticed that if I tried a combination of tones you can put the guitar in a state where there is no sound in the middle position. By shifting the knobs around it comes back. I think there's a minor bug in the electronics. But don't be dismayed. This is one heck of a good sounding guitar. It comes with a factory checklist. They've checked for fret buzz and a bunch of other things. If your on a budget and can overlook these issues buy it with confidence. MF took this back no questions asked. I upgraded to an entry level Gibson.

Comments about Epiphone G-400 PRO Electric Guitar:

I previously ordered the G400 Vintage model, mostly because the matte finish interested me. It was a fine guitar, but the extra 4 or 5 ounces of the Grover tuners made the headstock top-heavy, causing "neck-dive."
I understand this may not be a problem for some people, but it was for me. So I returned the Vintage and ordered this model, the G400 Pro, with the Wilkinson tuners. No more neck-dive!

I bought this guitar because I've always wanted an SG. I didn't want to spend the money for the Gibson. The finish is great and after a professional setup plays great.

Just got this guitar, and it's hard to put down (in any way)! The Alnico Classic Pro pickups are hot(!), the neck and action are both great, just had to adjust the bridge a bit to get it to how I like it. Can't go wrong with this guitar!!

I love this. It's great to get that AC/DC sound. Pickups are great. One complaint though. The fret board has a sharp edge and hurts my hand while im playing, but it's not too bad. Really solid guitar

Comments about Epiphone G-400 PRO Electric Guitar:

First off, YES you can sound like Angus Young from AC/DC when you power up this guitar (just fiddle with the controls on your amp of choice, low drive, high treble, mess around till' you get it).

This guitar caught my eye two years ago when I decided I wanted to expand on my playing abilities and try something new. I waited until the time was right to go ahead and order it online (great delivery time, only 3 days excluding the weekend). When It arrived, I was beside myself. The color is beautiful to look at, the neck does take a little getting used to, but works great once you get the feel for it, the electronics are simply sublime (some people have commented saying that the pickups are "weak" or "flat", they work more than enough for me!). The coil-tapping adds some nice room to create tones with, giving it a Stratocaster sound when you have a lot of highs and mids. Overall, this guitar would suffice even if I was doing an arena sized concert, it's tone, style, and playability have little to no bounds when it comes to playing rock of any kind!

Comments about Epiphone G-400 PRO Electric Guitar:

I have been playing for about 35 years. The first guitar that I actually owned was a 1985 LP Studio Custom. Great guitar. Before that I played my Dad's old 50's Martin 3/4 acoustic and a 50's Ovation(?) acoustic. Well, I have been through a few since then, Westone Dimension IV, an Ovation, which I had to give up. I still have a 1995 Squire Strat(GREAT Tone!), and a 1995 Epi LP standard with 4 pull up pots that control phasing and coil split, etc. Amazing axe, such great sustain and control.
This SG plays more easily than all of them, though. Simply said, out of the box... I had nothing to change. Just tuning. Coil split is a nice to have when you want a more "Strat'y," tone and the Alinco pickups are really nice. Currently my goto for most songs, but still use the Strat for the JH and SRV stuff.
Can't believe it is so inexpensive!!!

Buy it, you won't regret it!!!
