I got the guitar as a gift when I was 17 and have been playing it for the last 15 years. It has stood the test of time, and with proper care, etc. it still looks great. It was in storage for about 5 years and took it out and cleaned it up about a month ago and it still sounds great. It's a great starter electric and and you can't beat the styling. I play everything from rock to metal to indie rock, and it sounds great. I had to replace the output jack a few years ago, but aside from that there have been no problems. I may get some new pickups soon, but there's nothing wrong with the factory originals.

This guitar was the coolest thing ever when I got it. Now I'm thinking of selling it for a Dean Z-X. This things neck feels downright cheap. The input jack can be frustrating too. Worst of all is the upper fret access, which is terrible. But i have to say that with an Original Crybay and a DS-1 Distortion pedal, this thing can really scream. Its distortion sounds downright WICKED. This is a good begginer guitar, I would reccomend it as a first guitar.

I've had this guitar for two years now and it still has the same sound of when i bought it. this guitar will last you awhile. It sounds great with marshal or peavey amps you should hold on to a guitar this cherry or even its original the Gibson SG

Truly Magnificent

By GSage

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

I was so pleased with the performance of this guitar that i wound up getting a second one two weeks later. I've used this guitar with half stacks and the sound is wicked. I replaced my vintage white SG's Pickups with Rockfield SWV Select Wound Vintage Pickups GOLD. not only does it hold its own against a Gibson standard, it also looks stunning. i definetly recommend getting this guitar if your a beginer, intermediate ro even an expert.

Amazing

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

This guitar is truly amazing. I have had it for a bout a year and a half. It has never let me down, I've even gigged with it a couple of times and it still plays great. I have no regrets what so ever buying this guitar. It is very close to the Gibson SG and for a lead guitarist like me its perfect for soloing all over the neck. Whether it's funk or hard rock this guitar won't let you down, don't think twice about buying it.

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

This is simply an amazing guitar, i got the vintage white version and trust me it looks great, internet pictures simply don't do it justice. when you get it the output jack may be a little loose, but just tighten it with a wrench and your good to go! i would like to change the pickups, but only cause i want to, theres nothing wrong with the orginal ones that are on it. for a price this down to dirt i'm really glad i bought this.

Won't Last Long

By Tip

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

I think most people like to say any guitar they buy sounds amazing, so I gave this a low rating so people can get a review that actually discusses some of the issues with the guitar. This is a good guitar if you're just learning to play. Its not very expensive and it does have really nice classic rock tone to it. The clean tone is pretty bad though. The problem I have with it is there's a lot of little imperfections in its quality. It doesn't seem to hold up well to daily playing though. I've owned mine for a little under a year and I've already had problems with the pick ups. They seem to like to get loose and I'm constantly having to screw them back down into place. It also never stays in tune, ever. The little screw ins that are suppose to hold a strap are also junk, the one on the body is literally just a screw driven into the wood of the guitar. That's already come loose and so I can't play with a strap unless I get that fixed. The worst though is the buzzing, I have not been able to get rid of a nasty buzzing noise on the low e string. I can minimize it by raising the action, but its still always noticeable. Basically this is a great guitar if you're trying to learn and want something that'll sound decent, but anything beyond that you'll be looking to buy a new one if you stick with guitar, I'm already saving up for decent model.

Epiphone 310 SG, not bad...

By Kodaz

from CA

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

I've owned this guitar for about 3 years, and overall, I've been satisfied. The 310 features a slim, comfortable neck that plays very well. The humbuckers sound very nice clean or with distortion. Eventually, I replaced the tuners with locking ones and self-installed a Bigsby tailpiece. This is also a very nice looking instrument. I went with the vintage white myself, and it is a beautiful combination of cream and black. This is an excellent guitar for both beginners and intermediate players.

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

This guitar is a great starter, the price is awsome. The sound is good, but I have to say that Gibson's sound is better. But this can sound almost like it. I can't believe they came out with a white color of this now! (I wanted a white SG) So I just got a black =( its cool though, its great!

Awesome!!!!

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar a few weeks ago and I love it. I had previously bought a Strat for a gig last year, and I have handled guitars twice the price of this one with half the quality. It has a warm, open sound when played clean but can deliver an all-out scream when distorted. It looks great, and stays in tune well. This guitar can resonate forever, too. My one complaint is that putting too much pressure on the neck can it to alter the pitch, but all in all a great guitar

Epiphone g-310

By wishyouwherehere

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

I've had this guitar for about a year now. It's ok. The treble pickup's starting to go and the rythem isn't far behind. They were definately good while they lasted. The neck is a bit thick and flat. I personally am not a huge fan of the bolt neck design, but thats just my preference. It definately is a good guitar for the money. I definately would recomend for a beginner as a good first electric. If your a bit more experienced and your wallet can take the hit, I'd get the g-400 or gibson sg special faded. They hold up a little better. The obviously don't backbow as easily because of the set necks. The pickups are also of better quality. However these do sound pretty good epecially through my DigiTech Grunge on Hot Head pedals.

Great Guitar

By matt151328

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar almost 3 years ago, and it plays similar to a Gibson SG. The problems I had with it were the tuning peg for the G string broke off, the input jack came loose, and the strings that came with it were horrible. I had all those problems fixed now and the guitar is awesome.

Amazing

By This-guitar-kicks

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

I live close to the Gibson headquarters. I'm about 20 min away form the building, but so very far from owning a Gibson... The Epiphone G-310 is consistant to the shape, sond, and feel of an actual Gibson. When I first played this guitar at the music store, I fell in love with it, and took it home shortly after. My SG feels amazing and I forget sometimes that I am playing an Epiphone, because it's just like a Gibson... This is one amazing guitar...

ehhh...you can do better

By w00t

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

I've had this guitar for about a year know. It is currently in the shop having a backbow/twisted neck fixed (poor inspection by guitar shop/my parents know nothing0, pickups re-soldered etc. ANYWAy, when this guitar works its awesome. The neck is a bit flat, but thats nothing you can't work around. Its a good guitar for the money, but I would seriously consider a g-400 or Gibson SG special faded before you make the price cut to buy this one. It's definately a great first guitar don't get me wrong. But if your wallet can take the hit for g-400 or Gibson SG special faded you'll be happier. Like I said, when its working, this guitar is totally awesome, when its not its really a piece of work.

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

ive had this guitar for about 5 months now. when i first got it i loved it. since last month i havnt been very pleased with the actian on it. its worth twice the money you pay for it but the neck joint is hard to fit your hand around so you cant play very well past the 19th fret. i have a drive g25 amb witch has very muddy and unclean distorion. this guitar is more that exelant for a beginer. im putter a symore duncan dimebucker on mine though because the open coil humbuckers give a nice screach but to much feedback and not enough clarity. the action does play nice though. besides the pickups and the bulky neck joint, i have no complaints about this guitar. i think that once i get a decent amp and more percise humbuckers it will hold me until i get the money for a new guitar. this guitar is extreamly durable. if you treat it rite, it will last you as long as you want it to. you probably wont keep it for over a year without eigther changing the pickups or buying a new guitar.

Nice guitar

By laidback

from New Orleans, LA

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

This guitar sounds great with distortion, but not as good on clean. Its not real versitile. The looks are awesome though because the sg is a classic. The only real problem I have with it is that it doesn't stay in tune very long so keep a tunner handy. Great deal for the price deffinantly worth the money.

Great For Starters

By Ryan Taylor

from Bethlehem, Pa

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar back in October as a starter. This guitar is absolutely sick, if you're looking for a great guitar with a nice feel and sound at cheap price, look no further. I own this guitar in the red and let me tell you it's a beauty. This is such a versatile guitar that can play anything from blues to some nice face melting metal. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for nice guitar with a small price tag.

SG sound without the Gibson SG price!

By Cob

from San Jose, CA

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

Let me first say, this guitar is way worth the price, especially with the amount of tone you get. It's a great all around guitar, and it's not as neck heavy as other epiphone SG models. You can get that legendary SG tone for a great price, and it plays great, too! The only issue I have with this guitar are the pickups. They're pretty good for stock pickups, but with high gain they start to sound muddy and very dirty, so those must be changed down the line. But otherwise this is a great buy!
