I got the guitar as a gift when I was 17 and have been playing it for the last 15 years. It has stood the test of time, and with proper care, etc. it still looks great. It was in storage for about 5 years and took it out and cleaned it up about a month ago and it still sounds great. It's a great starter electric and and you can't beat the styling. I play everything from rock to metal to indie rock, and it sounds great. I had to replace the output jack a few years ago, but aside from that there have been no problems. I may get some new pickups soon, but there's nothing wrong with the factory originals.

This guitar was the coolest thing ever when I got it. Now I'm thinking of selling it for a Dean Z-X. This things neck feels downright cheap. The input jack can be frustrating too. Worst of all is the upper fret access, which is terrible. But i have to say that with an Original Crybay and a DS-1 Distortion pedal, this thing can really scream. Its distortion sounds downright WICKED. This is a good begginer guitar, I would reccomend it as a first guitar.

    A monster starting guitar.

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

This guitar is fantastic for the price tag. It is easy to play and sounds great through an amp. The guitar is relatively light and gives a nice rest for your left shoulder compared to some other guitars. The neck is thin and easy to play on. The versatility is amazing for being a starting guitar. It does well with clean, heavy distortion, or even a bluesy crunch. I would 10/10 buy this guitar for any aspiring electric guitarist.

    Absolutely amazing all around SG

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

Got this today, hoping it wouldn't be a cheaply put together SG, but this guitar is amazing, the flow and tone it puts out high and low end are both amazing. The red finish looks better in person, picture doesn't do a justice. The quality stands out when you hold it, just an all around amazing guitar for a deal, this guitar compares to 2014 Gibson SG standards and SGJs, it holds its own, do not think twice to purchase this guitar

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

I have a black left handed G 310. Mine is used, and it would be pretty amazing if it was set up good and the tuners were swapped. When im not battling to keep it in tune, and when the neck isnt bending and putting it out of tune from little pressure, it sounds pretty good!

I changed the bridge pickup on mine (highly suggested), and now it sounds like a real SG. Im a hard/blues rock and rockabilly/country guitar player, and it gets the job done if you have some patience. Thats all I can really say about it.

Overall, this guitar is pretty good. Replacing the pick ups might be something you would need to do. Other than that, this guitar rocks! Check out my video demo for this guitar!

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

This is my first Epi, first SG, and I am impressed. Bought it sight unseen off eBay. It arrived in good shape, almost set-up. The "white" is more cream, like everyone says, I think it looks good. This guitar was put together well, no sharp edges, nice strings, even finish-all same shade of cream. It is comfortable to hold sitting down. The tuners are fine-Grovers. No upgrade needed there. I don'e think the set neck vs the bolt on would be a problem for most folks. Get one!

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

The Epiphone 310 was my first guitar and served the purpose well. With it I encountered electronic and pick-up problems occasionally that were simple fixes like loose screws or wires. Mine was strange in that some days the tone was easier to adjust or it was easier to tune. The tone is very dark and round through tube and solid state amps but can have nice twang for bluesy rock tones. Warmth is hard to find, but the sound is very clean with little buzz. Standard hit or miss by Epiphone.

Great guitar for an intermediate or beginner player.

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

Completely worth the 250$. This electric guitar comes in 3 colors, and I chose the Ebony color. The pickups are decent for stock pickups and sound great in clean, but don't sound the best with metal, but still work nicely. Playing on this guitar is very easy and feels natural. The only thing I should warn buyers about is to purchase good strings along with the guitar, as the strings that came with the guitar are horrible and break with a simple bend.

        It really is lighter

        By Gordon Blevins

        from Beaumont, Texas

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

I am 68 years old and still, as Bob Seeger (sp?) sang, "out on the road again". I have played Gibson, Guild, Gretsch, and Martin guitars for 59 years, yep! I have a 1966 Les Paul Custom (Black). I bought it new. NOTHING CAN EVEN COME CLOSE. But, it is really HEAVY. So I was looking for a lighter weight guitar that really rocks. I found a white SG 310 at a local music store and it was love at first sound. The workmanship is excellent. The setup is excellent. The sound is amazing. The weight is FANTASTIC. T0 the person who wrote that the 310 is not just a practice axe. You are right on. Now both my left shoulder and the LP Custom are taking a well deserved rest. It's not a Les Paul Custom, but it ain't bad at all. Amazing.

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

Mine is a 2005 Vintage White, but somehow it isn't like any other Vintage White Epiphone SG310. Mine is more cream, and turned a darker cream in spots. It is fading really quick, witch is strange. I took off the Made in China sticker now, and its a white under neath, not a cream and also there was a sticker on back of the body and that was taken off and same, so they messed up with the paint and clear on this one! On the neck they messed up painting, a section about 4 inches long, is a different regular white and like drippy look, like spray paint. I am suprised it passed the inspection! It is a comfortable guitar, but the worse sounding humbuckers ever made. I have played a few, and they all sound horrible. If you switch the humbuckers and maybe throw on Grovers, it would be perfect.
