I've been wanting this guitar since it came out in february and I finally got it in july and it was worth the wait. Obviously the EMGs sound great and the Floyd Rose is one of my favorite features. Its a lot of fun even to just play around with and Dime Squeal or whatever. The look is amazing and one of a kind. The only thing is that the finish is much harder to see in person. mostly it looks black but in decent light the finish is easy to see. If you get any guitar other than this if you play metal or hard rock than you've made a mistake.

Absolutely Beautiful

By Anthony Delgado

I have been waiting to get this guitar for the past four months and finally I got to purchase it. The pickups sound great, the bridge EMG-81 can scream and the 85 in the neck has a really warm tone for all types of music, especially jazz/blues. The neck feels great and body gives it a really nice shine. The Floyd gives you the ability to dive-bomb which is really welcome, and overall its a great guitar, one of the best I have ever played.

Almost perfect....

By Jordan West

from Moore, OK

This guitar is incredible! I've had it for almost a year and it one sturdy guitar. I use the neck pickup no matter what im playing and it sounds great, and I'm sure the other one would sound good too if I used it. You can get great palm mutes and scary harmonics out of it too. The only problem is the flord rose. While you can practically pick it up by the tremolo bar and it will never go out of tune. The floyd rose can be very complicated to set up. If you have never use a floyd, I would suggest letting someone who has set it up and watch them the first time. Also it isnt recessed beneath the floyd rose, so if you want to do pull ups and dime squeals you will need to either raise your action, or have increase the spring tension. I would suggest the first option because Pinch harmonics are easier on a higher action, and if you simply increase spring tension, the bridge wont be parralel to the body of the guitar and you wont be able to dive bomb as easy either. The finish is MUCH darker than pictured on the website, but I like it better actually. Look at the Les Paul Prophecy EX to see what the finish actually looks like. The fret inlays look sweet and the fret board is very comfortable as well. I would definitely recommend this guitar to anyone who like The classic Explorer shape, but wants a tremolo and doesnt have $2000.00. If you have any specific questions on the guitar feel free to send me an e-mail.

Worth Every Penny

From the second this guitar came out i knew i had to have it. when i finally got it i was blown away. the sound of the emg's is perfect for metal. the floyd rose is also a really nice touch. overall this is an amazing guitar. the one downside is that it is pretty heavy.

Awsome Ax

By Sam

from Miami,FL

I got this guitar about a couple months ago and i fell in love with it just minutes after playing it. The EMG pickups are one of my favorite features the 81 is awsome for solos and the 85 which is my favorite one has a very thick sound but awsome. The floyd rose is amazing, when i divebomb no matter how much or hard i use it, it always stays in tune. The only thing i found complicated was when i would restring the whole guitar using a different gauge the floyd rose would point almost staight up at and angle like this / its not too hard to fix. so other then that which isn't a big deal. 5 STARS

got this beauty for x-mas and it is everything i wanted. love the emg's,nothing less than amazing. floyd rose is the best tremolo set up as it should be. Great dark finish, really shines. this is my first epiphone guitar and it did not disappoint. had a little trouble with the frets coming loose at first but nothing my guitar tech couldn't fix. it was probably just knocked around a bit on the way to the states. all in all its a great axe for any metal head out there.

only bad thing to say is when i got it there were some problems with the pickups fading in an out, wiring problem. but guitar center took care of me, and let me switch for a new one. i love the pickups and satin neck. really awesome tones, never had emg pickups before, and well they're everything i have read about. i own a ax 50, epi special 2, les pau land this. and i like this the most. i love to play metal, and this guitar is perfect for it. along with whatever else i want to play.
