I would have loved to buy this guitar. I had my sights on the rarer Korina version. Some obvious differences for price points are a slab body instead of neckthrough with wings attached as a real firebird. Alnico hummers instead of mini's, which were rather nasally no matter what amp or setting, and the TUNERS. Here is the catch on this guitar. Steinberger tuners. Most say they are better than sliced bread, that's because they bought the things.... They are a very nice design, very nice hardware, very fitting on this style of guitar, but staying in tune would have been a nice thing. Try as I might, regardless of tuner used, they just slip out of tune with a few strums or bends. I was so interested in the guitar and stated my flaw, that the store who knows me, changed the strings just for me to see if they could move it.. No joy. Instant slippage and out of tune. Improve this one aspect, retro grade to regular tuners or similar or get these right and you would have a great guitar.

One Sweet Guitar!!!!

By DC

Comments about Epiphone Firebird Studio Electric Guitar:

I have owned this guitar for a week and it just sounds absolutely amazing. I should be doing things like homework but I find myself picking this guitar up every time I am in the room. The neck is thin and really easy to get around. It feels like silk. Right out of the box it sounded great even with the factory strings. The Alnico Humbuckers sound great, a nice deep sound to a bright neck sound. The sustain is looong. I have to figure out the tuners though but it seems easy enough. It hasn't fallen out of tune or anything like that. The body is amazing looking and feeling, it's smooth. It sounds great for the blues or for rock. I recommend this for beginners or even pros. Feels Great Sounds Great!!!

great guitar

Comments about Epiphone Firebird Studio Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar for my son who is a great player for 11 yr old. I have about a dozen guitars from gretsches to martin to fenders most in the 1 to 2 grand range. I am VERY impressed with the quality and sound of this guitar. The neck is finished near perfect and the playibility is fantastic! Usually less expensive guitars show the flaws over time but the more he and I play it the better it gets! I would buy it again for more money!

Great for first timers!

By Justin

Comments about Epiphone Firebird Studio Electric Guitar:

I have owned this guitar for 3 months now and I have to say, it plays really good for the price. There is only one problem. The neck is heavier than the body so it will droop if you are not holding the guitar. The machine heads are absolutely my favorite thing about the guitar. It is so easy to change strings. Over all it is a great guitar. Now I know why Steve Clark used firebirds!

Great Guitar

By Gabe

Comments about Epiphone Firebird Studio Electric Guitar:

I love Firebirds, and was very excited to find out Epiphone made a much less expensive line of them then Gibson. Finally having it, I am very happy, great quality, excellent finish with a satin feel. Pretty, mellow sound on clean, (perfect for blues, alternative etc.) and a rugged sound on metal; a very versatile guitar! The smooth finish and thin neck makes truly makes it a master of speed. Very happy with mine! Great for beginners and experts will also love it.

the firebird

By travis dee

Comments about Epiphone Firebird Studio Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar about a year ago, used, via this website. I was drawn to the firebird a few years back because I wanted to be different and not just play a les paul or a stratocaster like EVERYONE ELSE. As a cheap trick fan, I was drawn to explorers and flying v's, but this one's not as big and pointy as the explorer, smoother than the flying v, and i personally think it looks more classic and has style. I took the plunge and bought the real Gibson FB V from my local GC and enjoyed it very much. I wanted a cheaper one to actually play out and about, and this was all that was available. Like everyone else, I don't really like the "worn cherry" finish or the lack of a raised center, but the rest of this machine is awesome. The pickups and electronics are fine, good, no problems, it's an Epiphone and carries the quality - I know that it's not the same as a Gibson, but I don't care. It'll neck-dive if you don't use a heavy strap or re-locate the pin. The steinbergers stay in tune fine and are easy to adjust when tuning, but not so fun when re-stringing. I find a wrench to tighted and vise-grips to pull the string tight helps a lot! I know it would seem that I complained a lot about the negative aspects, but the positive outways as this thing does not dissapoint.

Epiphone's Secret Weapon!

By Jeff Lynn

from Grand Island, Nebraska

Comments about Epiphone Firebird Studio Electric Guitar:

Any good guitarist out there knows whether or not a guitar is a great player or just a wall hanger. After purchasing the Epiphone Firebird Studio from Guitar Center I must admit that I fell in love with this instrument immediatley. The QUALITY of this guitar amazed me. I did not expect Gibson quality from the more affordable series Gibson makes. This guitar features HOT Alnico humbuckers, Steinberger 40:1 tuners, a SOLID MAHOGANY body with a set neck and the trusty Tune-O-Matic bridge. I have played many Gibson Les Pauls and Firebirds that I don't feel match the playability of this guitar. For the MSRP of this guitar, one would be a fool to purchase the "big brother" at about a 1,000 times the cost! Sustain your GIBSON tone forever with this Secret Weapon!

Tastes Better Than Frosted Flakes

By Rudy Reynolds

from Rockton, IL

Comments about Epiphone Firebird Studio Electric Guitar:

I ordered this guitar online @ guitar center and I have to say, I was a little worried because I hadn't ordered anything online before. But If you have any doubts, remove them, because the tone was amazing. It is perfect for classic rock and blues: when the tone nob is turned all the way up, it gets a nice, bright and clear tone, good for songs such as Secret Agent Man, Johnny B Good, and others, and when you turn it down a bit it is perfect for mid to high gain songs with power chords such as Working Man (one of my favorites) Cities On Flame, or Iron Man. All in all, a fantastic guitar, and I cant wait until I get an overdrive pedal.

Great Guitaar

By Bentley

from New Hyde Park, NY

Comments about Epiphone Firebird Studio Electric Guitar:

This epiphone firebird is really good and its cheap it sounds amazing and if your a blues player this something you wanna consider getting because this guitar has a really clean tone but can also handle distortion. The only problem is there is a lot of neck dive and the neck is heavy but if you buy a leather strap its not a problem at all. Overall this is an amazing guitar
