Great guitar case

By BRUCE MACIEJEWSKI

from Niagara Falls,N.Y.

I have to agree with all the other reviews. I bought this for my son's EPI Explorer, It holds the body very snug, but, also gives you plenty of room for accessories. Buy this and you will get your money worth. Very Satisfied customer.

Fits Guild X-80 Skylark and X-82 Nova guitars too

By Aedan Hurley

from Maryland

I was in need of a hard shell case to protect a rare Guild X-80 Skylark. Since this Guild has a radical, asymmetric shape similar to the Explorer, I figured I would give it a try. I received the case in 2 days. It had some smudges on the outside front but they do not bother me as the case will surely get its share of bumps as it protects its cargo inside. The case is built well and is large. The internal dimensions (something I could not find anywhere on the internet!) are 47 1/2 inches long and 16 3/4 inches wide. This includes pushing into the cushion so I would say these are the maximum dimensions that the case can hold. The body cavity is large and fits an Explorer very snugly with no chance of it moving around. The body cavity is 23 3/4 inches long. There is a little "step up" cushion that is 5 3/4 inches long right before the neck rest. The neck rest has a groove shaped into it that fits the Explorer design. It is NOT in the center of the neck rest. If you are in front of the open case, it starts 6 inches from the far side and stops at 8 1/2 inches (a 2 1/2 inch groove). The case closes tightly around the Guild X-80 and although it is shorter than the Explorer body, it does not move around in the case due to the snugness of the padding. I also tried a Guild X-82 Nova in the case and it fit even better! I tried a Guild S-281 Flyer in it and it fit but had way too much extra space around it. I tried a Guild X-79 and it did NOT fit. The distance between the upper horn and a point on the headstock on the X-79 does not clear the distance across the storage compartment. Anyway, I am happy with the case. It is not "top of the line" but it is solid and for the price, it is perfect especially if you are looking for a case for some very rare, oddball shaped Guilds, it will work for them too!!

Pretty much perfect...

By WILLIAM STEPHENS

from Fountain Valley, CA.

I ordered this case (#100452882) for a hand made Explorer form factor guitar I just finished building and upon receipt it fit perfectly and snugly. The case had no cosmetic damage and looks great. One thing however, the locking latch don't work, not that it matters to me anyway but if it has a flaw this is it. In some cases the headstock will rest on the floor of the case but with this one the headstock floats a good inch above the floor... basically right where it should be. If you have an Explorer, be it Epiphone, Gibson or hand made to a traditional outline like mine. I highly recommend this case, especially considering the price.

Great Case

By Claire

from Frederick, MD

I bought this case for my son who has a 1958 Explorer. He likes it very much. This heavy-duty case protects the guitar and is great for storage. Also, the store had it shipped to me, at no extra charge, within 4 days so that I had it in time for Christmas.

Smelly and Secure!!!

By ExplorerPal

from Los Alamitos, CA

When the box came to my house i was surprised at how big it was. Then i thought, "Maybe its the EMG's i ordered with it". But it was the cases. When i opened it smelled like 100 pairs of leather shoes were stuffed into that case. Other than that i feel that it can protect my guitar through anthing. Just air it out.

Perfect!

By John

from Salisbury, NC

Awesome case, well worth the wait! Very sturdy, the Explorer fits inside like a glove. It is heavy, but I would expect it to be. I know that nothing is going to happen to my axe inside this puppy!

What everyone says is right: nice case holds a lot weighs a ton! (when I put guitar and some pedals, cords, etc in it, it came out to 40 lbs) sturdy fast shiping So if you dont mind hauling it around, its a nice case and a good deal

Great for Storage, AND Portability!

By ExplorerCrazy

from Clifton

This is a great case. I had my Explorer in the case for around a year, and when I took it out last week, it still played, and looked just like the day it went in. Great for storage. For portability, it is still great, cause it fits in the trunk and backseat of my car, so I can take it with me anywhere. However, if you live in a big city, and you have to walk, I don't recommend this case... it's too big and will probably get hit around. Otherwise, GET IT!
