This is the case that houses an Epiphone Jazz guitar of mine, worth over a grand. It's very reliable. By that I mean, the locks stay locked and the cushion does it's job by protecting the finish and body of my guitar. Not only all of that, but it's a reasonable price. Buy one and you won't have any regrets.

The issue over at what price point a guitar includes a hardshell case is I am sure a bone of contention. It certainly is for me - a guitar player for 31 years I have watched this be an easy way for guitar manufacturers to put more money in their pockets. Putting that gripe aside - when I pay extra for a hardshell case, I expect to get a high quality case. This case is not at all high quality. It's cheaply made - I get the feeling that the clasps are not very durable, and the materials used both outside and inside are cheap.

the good news - my Epiphone Joe Pass Emperor II Pro fits perfectly. the bad news, I don't have confidence that long term this will hold up. Epiphone seems to me to value profit above just about anything else about their instruments, and this case fits that profile.

PERFECT CASE FOR THE Epi. SWINGSTER

By

from Upstate NY

Comments about Epiphone Emperor Hardshell Guitar Case:

I've read a lot of reviews, and checked forums and spoke with Sweet Water and Guitar Center, looking for a case for my swingster. and THIS IS THE PERFECT CASE. There is ZERO problem with it pushing down hard on the Bigsby. Does it push on it? YES. But Every guitar I own with a Bigsby (Les Paul, 339, Swingster) has this happen. It loosens the tension on the neck, it's a positive. The case is perfectly tight and snug. It closes AND latches with ease. You will NOT have to loosen any part of the Bigsby arm, or swing it down the body of the guitar. Buy the case. Put the Guitar in it. Watch the lid close perfectly with no force. Rest assured, you Swingster is safe here.

Bought This For The Swingster

By

from Tracy, CA

Comments about Epiphone Emperor Hardshell Guitar Case:

This is the case that Guitar Center and Epiphone recommend for the Swinger. The problem I had at first was that when you shut the case, the top pushed down pretty hard on the Bigsby Arm. To solve that problem you must do two things. The first is to swing the arm around so it points opposite of the headstock. The second is that you must loosen the two little allen screws and slide the hand about one half inch inwards. Do this and the top clears the bar, just barely but it works. A nice case for the money. Works great now for my Swingster but the fit is tight but thats no problem for me.

Epiphone Emperor Hardshell Guitar Case

By

from Michigan City, Indiana

Comments about Epiphone Emperor Hardshell Guitar Case:

This is one of the nicest cases for the money I've ever seen. It fits the guitar like a glove and is built like Fort Knox. I'm very impressed and would have paid more for a case of this quality. I don't really like buying things sight unseen but in this case (no pun intended)it worked out great!

Epiphone Emperor hardshell case

By

from Elgin IL

Comments about Epiphone Emperor Hardshell Guitar Case:

Great case for the money. What the internet descriptions don't tell you is that it will fit the Epiphone ES-175 like a glove. In fact the ES-175 is usually pictured in this case. I like the styling of this case better than the Epiphone case that is designed for the ES-175 (which GC doesn't stock). Don't know why Epiphone came up with a separate case for the ES-175, when the Emperor case fits it perfectly and the price is the same. GC stocks the Emperor case.

Safe and Secure

By

from Denver, CO

Comments about Epiphone Emperor Hardshell Guitar Case:

Finally, my Emperor hard shell case arrived. It is beautifully crafted, like it's custom made. The case is a little tight (due to the cushioning), very plush inside with lots of latches and a lock. The case is strong and it really secures my axe. No looseness at all. I know my guitar is secure and protected. It was worth the wait. JL

Good solid case

By

from Knoxville, Tennessee

Comments about Epiphone Emperor Hardshell Guitar Case:

This is a good solid case. It is not as cosmetically attractive on the outside as Epiphone cases were 4 or 5 years ago, but it is just as well built. The Joe Pass Emperor II fits snugly and is well protected. Nice interior lining and storage compartment under neck. The handle is well-placed and comfortable for balanced carrying. I would rate this a 5 but for the somewhat unattractive seam in the outer covering material on the top of the neck area of the case.

Great case

By

from Minnesota

Comments about Epiphone Emperor Hardshell Guitar Case:

After looking at a lot of options for my Epiphone DOT Studio, I chose this case because with it's greater depth of 5" I can actually put my effects pedal under the body of the guitar (with a pad over it to protect the guitar finish). The price is right, and the fit is great. I love my guitar, and this case keeps it protected, even in the harsh Minnesota winter.
