I've had this guitar for a little over three years now. It took all my money when I bought it, but it was well worth it. This guitar has great volume and tone, especially when I replaced the strings with some phosphor-bronze Martins. This is a great guitar for anyone, unless you need an acoustic-electric.

I pretty much bang out chords, nothing too fancy.

I thought the guitar itself is attractive. The action on mine was very low, making it easier to finger frets. This is one of those guitars you take on camping trips because you don't need to worry about harming it.

Mine had a high fret, so I took it back for a replacement. Having owned a DR100 and a PR150, it seems that high frets are an issue with Epiphone guitars. Also, the tuning machines are very sloppy, which makes tuning a real pain.

Comments about Epiphone DR-100 Acoustic Guitar:

Great guitar and the price is fantastic. Love the sound travel distance. This is really a 5 star guitar...I only gave it a 4 star because of my short fingers. I really needed a thin line neck because I'm a beginner, but hey I'm not trading in my first guitar...these little fingers of mine will just have to learn (readjust) because this is a FANTASTIC guitar. Ha-ha, I may just have to invent finger extensions. I promise you will love this guitar.

Comments about Epiphone DR-100 Acoustic Guitar:

I acquired this guitar from my sister who wanted to learn but gave up, and by acquired i mean once she moved out i took it. Ive been playing for 5 years actively. This epiphone is much louder and has a much deeper sound than my fender that cost $120 more. it sat in a basement for 5 years and collected dust, but i put some strings on it and tuned it up and it plays great. i use it primarily in my acoustic folk project.

Comments about Epiphone DR-100 Acoustic Guitar:

Received this guutar for a Christms gift and was very impressed.Right out of the box the action was great with the medium low action that I prefer and the tone is most impressive. The tuners work smoothly and it stays in tune quite well. The fit and finish were very good and the only negative I can think of is the oil on the fingerboard turns your fingers black after the first few sessons.I have played for over 30 years and this guitar is much better than the price suggests even superior in tone to some Martins and Gibsons I have tried.I higly recommend this guutar for both beginners and veterns alike.

            Not Bad but,,,,

            By Jeffrey Osgood

            from Woonsocket, R.I.

Comments about Epiphone DR-100 Acoustic Guitar:

My wife bought me this for my birthday back in July. It's in the Vintage Sunburst finish which is quite stunning. I was surprised to see that the stock tuners on it are now die cast , which the older models weren't . The action was pretty high which I was able to lower with the included truss rod wrench. The neck on this is perfect ,with no protruding fret ends which goes to show that Epiphone's plant in China has really improved the quality of their work. I did however, clean the fretboard with some Lemon Oil to remove that dye which seems to end up on your fingertips with these lower end models. I then removed the stock strings and chan ged them for a set of Elixir Acoustic 11-52 which made a huge difference in the tone and sound of the guitar. For a guitar in this price range , it has one heck of a great sound to it. The stock tuners on it though, did have loose screws which I did tighten and that is something , Epiphone's QC needs to keep a eye out for when they're inspecting these. I've had this for over a month now and I do plan on swapping out the stock tuners for a set of Vintage style Klusons which would not only look better but also keep it in tune as well. This is why I'm giving this only 4 stars. Other than that, this is definitely worth the price and highly recommended for beginners or the musician on a budget.
