Overview

The 50th Anniversary "1962" Crestwood Custom SB332 Outfit has a historically correct Crestwood profile made from mahogany with a beautiful finish. The mahogany neck features a rosewood fingerboard with pearloid oval inlays, 22 medium jumbo frets, and a 1960s SlipTaper„¢. The pickguard is especially eye catching with a butterfly-shaped clear guard with a vintage style foil "E". Original vintage Crestwoods are extremely rare and go for as much a $6,000 on the vintage market. If you can find one!

The Crestwood Custom also features Epiphone Alinco Classic mini-humbuckers along with Epiphone's top-of-the-line electronics including TopHat controls with metal inserts. Tuning is easy and accurate thanks to Wilkinson„¢ vintage style tuners with "tulip" buttons and a 14:1 ratio. The Crestwood comes with Epiphone's time-tested LockTone„¢ Tune-o-matic bridge and a Tremotone„¢ tremolo. The "1962" Crestwood Custom SB332 Outfit includes a period correct case and a 1962 Collection Certificate of Authenticity.

All three of these Epiphone classics will be issued in limited quantities of 1,962 pieces.

All of the "1962" Collection instruments were designed by Epiphone luthiers who worked from the best examples of vintage originals found in Epiphone's own collection in Nashville. Measure for measure, the "1962" Collection recreates the look, sound, and feel of the originals first produced at the Gibson & Epiphone factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1962, the same factory that produced the Les Paul Standard, the SG, and the 335. Includes case.

Great Guitar Package for the Price!

By David Storm

from Rockwall,Texas

Comments about Epiphone 50th Ann. "1962" Crestwood Custom Reissue Electric Guitar:

I saw this guitar at the Dallas International Guitar Show this past weekend,it was the only one like it out of many other models offered by many dealers. Being on a limited amount of money to spend, I thought this guitar was out of my price range..but after looking/playing several other brands of guitars..I kept going back to the Epiphone 50th Ann.1962 Creastwood Custom Reissue. The guitar has a Great Cherry Red Finish over mahogany wood, very lite weight, and looks/plays like a throw back to early days of the solid body guitars. The guitar came with case/case candy/allen wrenches/certificate of origin/was set up and for a import model it sounds and plays very well.Love the old style Tremolo..dive bombs great and stays in tune! I own Gibsons/Fenders/Epiphones and this guitar rates up there with some of the really good ones! Bottom line is..Really Glad that I bought it! Great example of a Great Guitar!

Epiphone 50th Ann. "1962" Crestwood Custom Reissue

By Steven Rosentreter

from Vancouver Washington

Comments about Epiphone 50th Ann. "1962" Crestwood Custom Reissue Electric Guitar:

Sounds good and looks good. I was interested in the mini humbuckers and the Tremotone tremelo. The pictures in the online catalog are a good representation of the true appearance of the instrument. It looks good like you would expect. The mini humbuckers sound good on my little 5W tube amp. The trem works like you would expect for a vintage style. The break angle of the treble E string over the bridge saddle is indeed very slight, however it does not impede my playing style of blues and retro rock music. There will be a lot to learn about this guitar in the next few weeks and I will update this review as necessary. I know it will attract attention at the blues jam. Thank you Epiphone and Guitar Center.
