Like the combo version, the Epi Valve Junior Head delivers 5W power with one 12AX7 tube in the preamp and an EL84 in the power amp. Sports stylish vintage-style red and black vinyl covering with white piping and a cream front panel.

The most tone 100 bucks can buy

I picked up one of these, with the matching extension Cab. I plugged in a cheap Mex-Strat at the store, and after playing 2 chords,I was ready to buy it. When I got home then it got even better, with my 74 Strat(not a reissued) and HS3 pickups. This is the best Tone=Money ratio ever. I've played Marshalls, Fenders, Mesas, Peaveys, you name it, but this is as close as it gets to that "tone in my head". There are a million mods to hot rod this little beast too, I'll be buying 1 or 2 more in a few days. I love the matching cab too. The more I play it the better the speaker sounds (it's starting to break up already) Do yourself a favor and get one, it wont even make a dent in your pocket.

Marshall and Mesa are Safe

Simply, this is a good sounding and inexpensive TUBE amp head. Will it get you to tone Nirvana? No. But it is very capable at lower volumes in producing a nice warm clean sound. As you gently roll the volume upward you can unleash a down and dirty blues grind tone. It isn't very well suited for rock unless you add a stomp box in front. However, this amp offers you the ability to turn up a tube amp to its limit without being evicted from your house. It breaks up in a pleasing way that isn't at all smooth. For the money, this a fantastic amp that has plenty to offer for the right player.

A Wolf in Sheep's clothing

I went to the new Guitar Center in Cedar Rapids 2 weeks back and saw they had a valve junior head. I plugged it into a peavey 4x12, cranked the volume all the way up, cranked the volume knob on the Les Paul I had and hit an "A" chord. HOLY COW!! It was bloody loud for 5 watts, and upon playing with the volume knob on the head, full of tasty tones all the way around, from sparkling clean to full-on old Marshall style crunch. I couldn't resist it, and took one home. I actually GIGGED with it last Friday night. It was just loud enough to keep up with the drums & bass, and it loves stomp boxes too! I used a Boss Super Overdrive for lead boosts, and it worked like a million bucks. It sounds particularly nice with a Strat played through it. Just pick one up before they're all gone...I'm gonna get another one and run stereo with my 2 2x12 Texas Heat loaded cabs.

Rings like a bell

Nice clean tone that rings forever! It doesnt get any more simple then this. One volume knob and thats it. Super clean tube tone sounds fantastic with all my guitars. Starts, SG, RG, This would be a great recording amp. At volumes lower then 10 o'clock, amp is really clean. Over 12 o'clock will get you classic breakup of the 60's. It's the best amp to come out in years.

Fabulous Little Amp

One knob. Two tubes. 5 Watts. Class 'A' Simply Fabulous little amp head. But you'll probably need an EQ. I do. Really nice well built amp. Buy one before Epiphone realizes what a winner they've created, and raise it's price. Even the cabinet alone is worth $100.00! So, Don't think, just BUY IT NOW!!! You'll be glad you did. even if you don't like it and 'flip it' you wont lose a cent. BTW, it needs speaker(s): It's just the head.
