5 WATTS?
I am hear to sing the praises of the epiphone valve junior half stack. This little amp sounds better than any amp I have ever owned.I have been playing for 17 years and this is the first amp that lets your guitar sound like your guitar, not the amp with a guitar ran through it.With only 5 watts (but 5 class A watts) this thig is a mammoth. The extension cab sounds great too.Don't pass these up because of the low wattage you'll get plenty of sound.Buy one now before epiphone realizes what they are doing and decides to charge what they really should be.

I Love MY Valve Jr. Head & Cab
Well it is hard to believe but for the money it is amazing the kind of tone you can get from this head & cab., I have been playing guitar for over 20 years and currently play in a blues band and this amp is perfect, regardless of price, I have owned them all over the years and I currently own amp's I have paid 6 times over the price for and the Valve Jr. sounds as good if not better than them and without being to loud. I am planning a few mod's to the head and I think my new live rig will be 2 of the Valve Jr. Heads & 2 cab's miked through the PA, great tone & harmonics, light weight, easy to move, and did I say great tone.
This amp just rocks without being to loud, I love it.

For such a low wattage amp...it has terrific sound. Dont plan on it having effects because it doesnt....i play through a ibanez tube screamer and it sounds great.....wonderful recording ....or for personal use at home or office...great buy for the money..

rocks pretty hard
i like to set the volume to about two o'clock and adjust tone and volume on my DiPinto Belvedere to suit the occasion...nice retro vibe...i am all about the classic tones...it has no reverb, but you don't need it with the natural sound of a tube amp, unless you insist on sounding like B.B. King, for which i turn to my Epiphone Blues Custom 30, another good product i enjoy...the half stack package contains no speaker cable, so you'll need a three-footer if you get it...these two Epiphone amps are made in China...i have several pieces of gear made there, and it was all good right out of the box

Just buy it!!
Epiphone Valve Jr. Half Stack......Simply put, just buy it!!! Great looks, great tone, even better price!! Not a better price to value product out there in my humble opinion. This is a straightforward, no frills, 5 class A watts tube amp with matched speaker cab and that's the beauty of this product. No extra digital effects built in, just a great sound with one knob that can give you a range from clean to distortion, you just set the knob on this beauty and then use your guitar volume/tone controls to get what you want. Just plug in, play, and enjoy the sounds coming from it. I bought this for my son who recently started playing, using his Epiphone (LP and SG) and Fender strat and it is absolutley perfect for any of those guitars in our home basement (caution, it can get really loud if you want it to!!) When he wants effects, he uses our assorted Boss pedals, Dunlap Wah, and MXR EVH phase 90. He can get ANY sound he wants using those.....this amp LOVES pedals. If you want to save a TON of money, for a great quality amp, go with this.
I play a Gison LP and Fender strat and they sound great through his setup as well. Quite frankly, I find myself plugging in to the Epiphone half stack when he isn't playing......my setup is a big name that costs 4x what the EPI costs. Since I don't play gigs, if I had to do it again, I would have gotten the Epiphone instead of what I have. Thanks Epiphone, for making a high quality product at a super price!

EVJ Half stack
Great little amp.I play a Les Paul through a Boss ME 70 for almost any sound and style I need and for pure acoustic tone a Breedlove right into the input. It has enough power for a small to medium gig with a three piece group and can be easily carried by this 60 year old without getting a hernia.

only 5 stars?
I wish you could rate more than 5 stars because this thing is awesome! I just bought mine a couple days ago and it sounds amazing don't let this amp fool you with its low wattage, everybody always says they want that tube overdrive sound, and they buy 100 watt amps that they can't even turn up past hardly anything, with this amp you turn it on and hardly turn it up at all and you get that classic tube clean or overdriven sound, and this can get really loud, I'm going to be using it on stage at my church with a mic, and I've heard people say they can gig with it perfectly fine, get one!

Buy this
I am blown away by this amp. It has a perfect bluesy tone and can work a really heavy crunch when you turn it to about 12:00. I play a Gibson Melody Maker through it and it can be ridiculously loud, but the volume knob is versatile enough to be able to keep it at a whisper. I only play with EH pedals, but even Digitech and Boss sound great. Buy this amp if you want one that doesn't suck

simple yet wonderful
It's quite an amazing little thing I must say.
altough my opinion is all speculation it is plain and simple a sweet sounding all tupe amp.The sound you feel is the sound you hear nothing more although personally that is quite enough to make me perfectly happy. I'm not some seasoned guitarist.I use a hell raiser avenger with emg 81/85 pickups with a nice overdrive this thing is monstrous but be ready to be aware how simplisticly wonderfull this little package really is.
