Since it's introduction almost 20 years ago, The Special-II has met the needs of countless musicians with its combination of Les Paul features, great tone and affordability. The Special II Plus Top Limited Edition Electric Guitar Made with a flamed maple top, mahogany body, bolt-on mahogany neck, smooth 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, this baby is every bit as handsome as its uptown cousins.

Providing the sizzle and snarl that you can only get from humbuckers is a 650R (neck) and 700T (bridge) pickup combo. You'll be amazed how these U.S.A. designed pickups with their high-output magnets add more highs with increased definition and no muddiness. Slightly over-wound, the hotter 700T bridge pickup is smooth but can give you a little extra scream or growl when you need it while never losing its rich combination of enhanced lows and crystal clear highs.

    Ok, so i play in a band in my high school with some of my friends, we perform alot for anywhere over 150 people at a time. I was playing a Washburn and a First Act for awhile until i finally reached the breaking point of the useless guitars i was playing. SO, i bought this guitar in transparent blue. The color is more purplish blue. It actually looks alot better then in the picture. AMAZING is all i can say. This is great for performing teenage bands. I play in a punk rock band and i'm the lead singer and rythm guitarist and this is an amazing guitar for that. If your looking for an affordable Les Paul but with the Gibson quality, your looking at it.

  • Good for the price.

    I've owned this guitar for about a year and a half now. It is definitely worth the price especially if your a beginner, even if you've been playing for years its still good. I'm in two bands and I mainly play a Schecter Ultra III but I switched out the pickups on my Special II with some cheap Seymours and it improved alot. Even if all you do is switch pickups it still has a smooth les paul feel. I would recommend this guitar to most players excluding advanced players

    Great sounds for an even greater price. Was going to get the std. Special II, but the Plus top with the flamed maple--outta sight. I am strictly a hobbyist and have never had an electric but would highly recommend for any young players who may be wanting a guitar for christmas. Being a kid myself (nearly 49 1/2!) I did my homework, and for the dollar$ you'll get great looks, and twin double humbuckers with a warm,rich tone.Fingerboard was quite friendly,smooth neck. Hooked up to Fender practice amp with super sounds/results. At $149,Very well worth it.
