This package is awesome IF....
You're new to playing, or you're coming back to it after a long time off. The action is just right. It's heavy enough that you'll wear away the tenderness in your fingertips pretty quickly, but not too light as to prolong the tenderness. The amplifier is a great beginner ACCOUSTIC amp. It doesn't have any of the extra features like overdrive/chorus. This is GREAT because too often people start out trying to sound like Steve Ray Vaughan and waste time skipping the fundamentals. The guitar sounds great for the price. Usually you get what you pay for, but with this you get alot more. I have beat this guitar up and I have yet to hear it play any different than the day I opened the box. I would suggest this guitar as a gift to EVERYONE. If you're a parent get your kids a guitar! NOW! Many of us who do play always wish we had started much earlier in life. Do your kids a favor and get this set.

Fantastic package!
I had not touched a guitar in almost 15 years and only recently got the bug to start again. I was always weary of package deals like this but I really liked the way the guitar looked. And after a few minutes of playing it, I asked the salesman at GC, "Do you take a check?" I got it home and tried out the amp and it is perfect! It is the best $200 I have ever spent on an instrument. Since I am getting back into playing guitar again, I am totally sold on epiphone products and my next purchase is going to be an Epiphone Les Paul standard (which I also tried out that day too!) A great deal for the beginner to the virtuoso! No disappointments here to be found and I can't sing enough praises about this guitar!

Beginners Dream!!!
I'm a beginner and still learning the basics, but I can say it doesn't sound any different from the more expensive guitars I've played around with. It's very comfortable to hold (not bulky at all) and the guitar is beautiful too! I enjoyed the DVD lessons, but found myself back at Guitar Center buying a workbook of chords with more DVD training! I also recommend buying some extra packs of strings, a digital tuner (the included tuner only has around 6 little lights and NOT a wide measurement range), and a guitar stand (because it's not good to lean your guitar against the wall or anything for that matter...it damages the neck). The extras may run about $60 more, but it's totally worth it! Then you'll have your all-in-one guitar package with complete lessons!

Spectacular
This guitar si great! I got one for Christmas last year. I have friends who have Ovations, and Fender acoustic/electrics and they ask to borrow mine! I have done some modificatons to lower the action to allow for easier playing, and I only use Martin strings, medium. The sound is amazing! The best part is that, due to a pricing error, my mom got the set for only $150.00 at y local Guitar Center! I love this guitar. I'll never get rid of it.

I wasn't expecting this
I'm new to the guitar scene, just gettin' it kickin', and I ahve to say that I was completely blown away by this instrument. First off, I was so happy when i opened the box and the guitar is actually made of Mahogany, and not the white plastic shown in the picture. more importantly, the sound that came from it was spectacular. My good friend who is teaching me how to play says himself that he really likes it and was a slittle surprised when I told him that it was actually just a starter pack guitar. I play almost daily unless my schedule doesn't allow it, and frankly, I've tested a few other guitars, and none of them feel as right as this one; it just fits perfectly.
