Epiphone mandobird VIII

Was give to me for set-up (intonation, new nut, etc.) Was impressed so much I want one now. Played great and sounded just as good (used Fender amp m80 chorus)Needed to relocate bridge just a little. The only thing I didn't like was it ball-end strings.

Love my Mandobird

I really enjoy my recent purchase of a Epiphome Mandobird VII. The tome is crisp and is much easier to play than my cheeper acousic mandolin. Adatorium sound is just as crisp as through my amp. I love my mandobird. The best part about purchasing my mandobird is the service received by folks at the Guitar Center. Very helpful for someone new to this type of instrument and additional assesories needed. I was so impressed that I purchased another guitar.

Unplayable.

I saw this thing and had to have it despite other reviews I read. Well the other reviews were right. The Mandobird 8 was not playable at all on the first fret. I had to push down so harsd on the strings at second and third frets it put the intonation out. Perhaps with some work it would have been a nice piece. I did not expect much for the money but I do expect it to be tunable and playable.
