I got this banjo for Christmas this year, after doing online research and comparing one banjo to another, I decided on this one. I had seen it online and already knew what it looked like but when I opened it up I was amazed. The banjo itself is on the heavy side, the neck is small and the tuners face out back, so I would not recommend a wall stand or hanging the guitar by its neck alone. This is my first banjo, but I have been playing guitar, bass and various other instruments for 10 years or so now. Overall it is a pretty awesome, beautiful and great sounding banjo. I would recommend you get it set-up in the shop, as doing it on your own would be a challenge.
this banjo is really great for beginners. very good sound, and it seriously looks amazing. if you were thinking you could play this without the resonator, you won't be able to bc the rim is not smooth with it off. great banjo though....awesome!
I was pleasantly surprised at how good this banjo looked and sounded. From researching it, I knew I would already like it, but when I saw it in person it was even better. This is my first banjo (other than a very cheap one I had before), but I've been play bass and Guitar for 7 years so I know if an instrument is well made. Obviously this is not the best banjo. There are very small things that are not perfect, but are virtually unnoticeable. For the price of this banjo, you get a lot more than you pay for!
