Epiphone Ltd Ed SG-Junior Electric Guitar (H71863)

A classic rocker with quality features at a budget-friendly price.

Classic SG-Shape: Since its introduction in 1960, this two-horned monster has graced the hands of some of the greatest guitarists of all time. Its double-cutaway body offers unequaled upper fret access while it's lightweight, contoured shape makes it easy to play. Night after nightâ?¦ gig after gig.

Angled Headstock: Unlike other designs, the Epiphone Ltd Ed SG-Junior feature a 14-degree headstock that gives you more pressure at the nut and so you get more sustain with less tuning hang-ups caused by "string-tree" gadgets.

Upgraded Controls: Traditional large diameter potentiometers give you smoother range and longer life.

Upgraded Switches: All Epiphones feature all-metal, USA-designed switches for reliable contact and longer life.

Rosewood Fingerboards: The rosewood fingerboards provides a smoother feel and longer life. Plus, dirt and grunge doesn't show like it does on cheaper maple fingerboards.

Humbucking Pickup: If you wanna Rock, you gotta have a humbucker! With its dual-coil design, the 700T mounted in the bridge position eliminates unwanted "hum", humbuckers are the choice of professional rockers worldwide. Rich, rock tone with no noise â?? don't settle for less!

Three-On-A-Side Machine Heads: More spacing and larger buttons make the 3+3 headstock and tuner design easier and faster to use.

Precision Machine Heads: Premium, precision 14:1 tuners provide ease of use, excellent tuning stability and long life.

  • Best guitar I own and 1/3 the price

As reviewed by Lyle Schmitz on 11/7/2012

I'd just like to start this off by saying I'm not some new guitarist who bought this as his first guitar. I've been playing for 8 years, and I own 3 Epis (LP, Wilshire, G-400) and a Gibson (SG Standard). I bought this guitar because it was cheap and it's very similar to the Gibson SGX (played by my all-time hero Alex Gaskarth). This guitar is by far my favorite. And yes, that means I prefer it over the Gibson I payed 700 dollars for (used). It may just be this specific one, but I honestly think Epi has outdone themselves. Sound is phenomenal, very crunchy, and it ranges from really bright to surprisingly thick. I love the single-pickup design, it keeps it light and simple. The finish is absolutely gorgeous and seems to hold up very well. Everything is matte, which is beautiful and makes the neck very easy to play on. Speaking of the neck, this is the reason I love this guitar so much. It plays MARVELOUSLY. The only problems I have with this guitar are the bolt-on neck, which prevents me from using DiMarzio Clip-Lock straps as I do on all my other guitars. If you're thinking about buying one, buy it. It will not disappoint. Hell, if it's still around in January I may buy another. Maybe 2!

  • For Online Orders

As reviewed by Preston Cline on 12/21/2011

Bought one of these for my sister to learn on. Great guitar with attitude and respectable sustain from a bolt on neck. However, it came directly from the warehouse and it didn't have the luxury of being set-up in store. Noticed it wouldn't hold a tune, so I brought it in to my local guitar store. Come to find out 70% of the machine head mounting screws were stripped out. Simple, cheap fix was to refill the holes and set the screws in again. Plays like a new Epiphone should, despite being a budget/starter guitar. So for your online orders shipped directly to your house or for in-store pickup, I recommend getting the guitar properly set-up as it is worth the extra cash if you don't do it yourself.

  • One of the Best Deals Out There!

As reviewed by Zach on 9/5/2011

I picked this guitar up at my local Guitar Center, and from the moment I started playing, I knew this wasn't just another cheap Epiphone. The finish is smooth on the neck which makes it super easy to slide up and down, the tone knob actually has a lot of input on the sound of the pickup, and it looks absolutely beautiful. It almost has the feel of a light hollow body, but has twice the low end. My only complaint is that you lose a little bit of the high end with the pickup, but hardly any at all. This guitar plays like it's easily four times the price.
