  • Such A Deal!!!!

As reviewed by Randy Dean on 11/4/2010

For years I've wanted a Les Paul Bass...........but a Gibson Les Paul Bass was just toooooo much money. Then I heard a commercial for The Guitar Center on the TV and thought "What the heck.....check it out". To my surprise I put in a search for Les Paul Bass and it came up with this beauty........ The sound (after changing the strings to flat wounds) is amazing, with such deep deep tones. The guitar is not a cheap knock off........but a Real Les Paul.....a glued in neck (not a bolted on one), great pick ups adn I'm glad I came to the web site. Years ago I owned a Violin Shaped Beattle Bass and it was a knock off but played great but nothing in comparision to this one. It was the perfect choice for me and I hope for alot of you.

  • what a thumper

As reviewed by Travis on 12/8/2010

I bought a trans black model at the local GC store. Excellent finish and detail. A simple design but that is what I like. The low end thump on this guitar is awesome. Pickups are amazingly quiet when you are between songs. Stays in tune like it should. It sounds like an old Gibson EB to me. It is a little heavy and does tend to lean forward a little but that is no big deal for me. I also play a Highway 1 Fender which costs more than three times what I paid for this. It does not play the higher tones as bright as the Fender but I like this one better for rock. I put a set of D'addario 165 nickel wound strings on it right away. (stock strings sucked) I do not know how long this bass will hold up but it seems like it is built like a sledge hammer---solid! If there is a better bass at this price I would be surprised. For reference I have owned several Squiers, EB-3 Epiphone, Fender standard P, Peavey T-40...this one blows them away because of the low end thump and quiet pickups. By the way this bass looks much better than the pictures here.

  • Awesome

As reviewed by Jesse on 11/18/2008

This is my first bass but I studied hard before picking one. Absolutely incredible. Perfect sound. Very comfortable to play. The strings that came with it were not too great so I added Elixir heavy's to it. Sounded a lot better although i would suggest getting mediums next time.
