  • Punchy and Crunchy Axe

As reviewed by Steve on 7/27/2009

Went to guitar center today with my drummer friend to buy some skins. Found this guitar hung up real high, not even a fingerprint on it. Plugged it in and it was over. Wasnt going to let this guitar get out of my hands. Its made in their custom shop in china(dont let this worry you). It really has no cheap flaws at all. They paid attention to detail with this line and the yellow binding is stunning. The rosewood fretboard and frets are exceptional to say the least. The pickups were designed by epiphone usa and I must say they sound as good as some of the duncans I have. If your looking to get a paul type without spending 2200 you should check this baby out without a doubt.

  • Freaking Amazing!

As reviewed by walkerevans on 6/4/2011

My title says it all! This guitar is freaking amazing! I absolutly love it. out of all the electric guitars i have/have played this is definantly number 1, with my LP Jr in a close 2nd. I love the playability of this guitar! I love the neck thickness its not super thick, but thick enought to contour to my hand. The pickups on this guitar are the best ive ever played. I love the coiled opposed to the covered. It gives me a good distorted sound in both the neck and bridge position. And on most LP's when its super chunky in the neck position, this guitar is bass-y but it has a good treble sound in the neck position. I love Speed Knobs! I love how its a custom but its understated. Like it has the split diamond on the headstock, but instead of block inlays it has trapezoid which i like better. I like how it doesn't have a pick guard because on an ebony finish you can barely tell its there anyway. I absolutely love the finish. I love the yellow binding! There is no other Les Paul with yellow binding around the body, neck, and headstock. And i love how the "Epiphone" name and split diamond headstock inlay are in pearloid yellow as opposed to chrome. It adds character and its not just the standard custom. This guitar is all around perfect to me. It definantly blows about half of the Gibson Les Pauls out of the water. There is no other Les Paul like this one! Im glad i have this one, and that its discontinued so not many other people have one like me. I love this guitar! Best Les Paul Epi has ever made. No other Les Paul like it. Absolutely PERFECT.

  • What a ride!

As reviewed by Joseph on 3/23/2010

Best guitar I have ever owned. Went to GC looking for Fender Lonestar or Deluxe. Pearly Gates on Lonestar doesn't even come close. Even played an American Tele and just couldn't find another guitar that had this sound. Of course higher level Gibsons are better than this Epi, but at this price I don't believe that there is a better guitar out there.
