The Limited Edition Joe Bonamassa Les Paul features a stunning metallic-finish carved maple cap with a mahogany back. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and Grover 14:1 tuners have a nickel hardware coating. The glued, deep-set mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard features a rounded '59 neck profile for guitarists who prefer a chunkier neck, but still enjoy fast, smooth playing action. The BurstBucker 2 and 3 humbuckers have unbalanced pickup windings for the historically-accurate "Patent Applied For" sound with a little extra airy tone. The 'Bucker Type 3 is slighty overwound for more output.

A unique fusion of old and new ideas
Bonamassa played his first guitar at the age of four. By seven, he had stepped up to a full-scale model and had mastered many of Stevie Ray Vaughan's signature licks. At 10 he was playing regularly around the state of New York, garnering attention of blues legend B.B. King. Two years later, he was opening up for King, and eventually stars such as Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Stephen Stills, Joe Cocker, Gregg Allman, and George Thorogood. Bonamassa has lived up to his potential, continuing to develop his own style as one of contemporary music's most profoundly gifted guitar players.

  • I have BOTH and the Epiphone is almost better!

    Just what I said in the title... I have the Gibson Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Studio AND the Epiphone. See my review on the Gibson model (Amazing Tone, Annoying Trouble) and you'll know that I said it was a great guitar but had a bunch of quality control issues. Made me angry and bummed out at the same time... that my $1,400 guitar sounded and played great but had a bunch of little annoying problems. THE EPIPHONE HAS ALL OF THE TONE, ALL OF THE PLAYABILITY AND NONE OF THE QUALITY CONTROL ISSUES. I would assume that the Gibson has better this and that in terms of components and it does feel like a better playing guitar... but only just a little bit. For the money... you can't beat this Epiphone Joe Bonamassa LP. The finish is a true wonder. Does the name Goldtop proud! The Gibson USA pickups sound superb thru my Line 6 Spider and even better thru my Bugera V22 tube amp. Hook up the MXR '78 Badass pedal and NOTHING sounds better. All in all a VERY well made and produced guitar. The QC for Epiphone must have gotten the message from past years letdowns because they have picked up their game. This EPI JB LP- EXCELLENT. The Epiphone Nighthawk Reissue I got a few months ago- also excellent. Both of the 1960 50th Anniversary LPs I bought earlier this year(V1 and V3 both... ok I am a glutton for Les Pauls) TRULY AMAZING! To summarize, don't be a Gibson snob like I have been in the past. You will not be disappointed in any way with this guitar. It is made to destroy. Get on this axe promptly.

  • Great Guitar - Best Customer Service I have Ever Seen

    I'm 58 years old and shop on the internet almost exclusively. It takes a lot to impress me but I'm impressed. First I purchased this guitar at a great price and it's all it claims to be. Secondly the CSR's at Guitar Center are the most helpful and professional people I have dealt with. I would not hesitate buying from this company knowing what I know.

  • Absolutely as good as advertised! $4000 tone at a fraction of the price!

    I got my Limited Edition JB Les Paul yesterday, and am absolutely elated with it's tone, playability, and construction. You're going to read plenty of message board criticisms from Gibson snobs who will tear this thing apart without ever actually playing it since it's made in China. Is this thing *as* nice as Joe's $4000 Gibson Custom Shop model? Of course not. But this is an AMAZING guitar for the price and really helps nail that ballsy, hot, blues rock tone that Joe gets. Getting these kind of features - the deep set neck, real Gibson Burstbuckers, Grover tuners, etc... really sets this axe apart from your standard Epi Les Pauls. The 50's neck is chunky, but really comfortable and plays fast. The neck Burstbucker is warm and chunky, and the bridge adds some great 'heat' for perfect lead tone. Having straplocks included was a great plus as well, and the guitar is just gorgeous from a cosmetic standpoint. As far as bang for the buck goes, you will not beat this model. The feel, tone, and playability rivals some Gibsons that cost 3-4x this much. Get one before they're gone!
