The Epiphone Limited Edition Emperor Swingster Royale Electric Guitar that outclasses other hollow-body guitars in its price range! World famous for making some of the best and most innovative hollow-body guitars, Epiphone conjures up some of it's past with the Emperor Swingster. Starting with the same body and neck as used on their Emperor-II guitar and made famous by the jazz master himself, Joe Pass, Epiphone swings into action and turns it into a serious twangin', rock-a-billy slingin', country flingin' machine!

Classic Construction with SwingBucker Pickups!
With it's hand-scalloped arched spruce top combined with a laminated arched-back maple body and glued-in 3-piece hard maple neck, the Swingster has what it takes to satisfy any professional's demand for great tone. At the heart of the guitar are Epiphone's SwingBucker pickups and a sophisticated series/parallel electronic switching package. Specially designed for the Swingster, the humbuckers offer no hum performance and feature classic Alnico-V magnets, enamel wire and over-wound coils for the perfect combination of warmth and bite.

Series/Parallel Switching.
Two push/pull Tone controls allow you to change each pickup's output individually from parallel to series wiring creating a palette of useful sounds to tap into ranging from warm humbuckers to "quacky" single-coil type sounds and everything in-between. Of course, any swinging machine needs a vibrato and the Swingster is no exception featuring a Bigsby Licensed B30 with original style "wire" handle as preferred by "Certified Guitar Player" and legend, Chet Atkins.

  • Great Guitar

    Can't say enough about manager & sales person from the GC located in Dayton, Ohio. The guitar is superb for this price range. Built like a tank & worth upgrade if I so choose. Definitely a swingster style guitar. I finger pick & this guitar is perfect for that. I haven't picked my Martin up since I bought the Swingster. Got about 4 distinct on board tones. Dead on tuning & beautiful to look at. The overpriced name brand guitars need to stop. This guitar will please any professional @ a price a musician can afford. The lifetime limited warranty serviced by Gibson will give you peace of mind. Thanks again to manager Jason & sales person Steve Rose for their superb customer service.

  • Impressive Guitar

    The free shipment from GC arrived quickly, 2 business days. There are some great, some good and some not so good things about the Swingster. To keep it simple here is what I found. Finish-Outstanding, but there was a small scratch on the back. Not a big deal but still, not expected right out of the box. Intonation-Almost dead on. Action-Not bad but swapped the hvy stock strings for some Power Slinkys and lowered the bridge. Now slick and fast. Neck-feels a little more beefy that that on my Casino but really nice. The fret dressing was outstanding. Machine heads-The Grovers are excellent and accurate. Bigsby-The wire arm was very loose. Had to remove the spring, tighten and reseat. The function of this vibro bar is average at best. Pickups, bridge and controls-Love the pickups and the coil splitting provides some wonderful tone possibilities. The pickups have plenty of power, more than I expected. The bridge works perfect with the Bigsby, stays in tune. The sound-Exceeded my expectations. Full with sustain. Works for crunch to country. Watch out for feedback using a high-gain amp or settings. What bugs me-The fret marker dots on the neck are invisable. They are white and get lost in the gold sparkle inlay that encompases the body and the neck. What was Epi thinking here??? Going to have black dot markers installed by a luthier. Conclusion-Overall the guitar is well worth the price and I am happy with my purchase. The overall rating should be a 5 but the 4 given here is the result of a knuckle head decision to go white on the fret markers. Everthing else is great.

  • A jewel of a guitar

    The Swingster Royale is not only stunning to look at, it plays beautifully. The neck feels thinner than my Epi BB King. The action, as delivered was very low yet there is NO fret buzz. The different tone combinations available with humbucker to single coil should satisfy any player. The quality fit and finish is superb. I must admit the Swingster was my second choice. I ordered a Riveria Royale but they are still on back order. Guitar Center offered me the Swingster Thats a steal for this beautiful instrument. Gotta love Guitar Center. The sticker says made in Indonesia but I can't believe Gibson could have done any better.Dislikes? the pick guard came in a bag to do it yourself install. No certificate saying limited edition
