Clean looks, reasonable price.

The original idea for the Epiphone Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar was to create a somewhat lower-priced Paul by dispensing with some cosmetics. The result was an especially clean, handsome guitar with all the Les Paul essentials. Newly designed in 2004, the Studio now has a thicker body that matches its namesake, hot open-coil Alnico Classic humbuckers, a set mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, and mahogany body with carved top. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and LockTone stopbar tailpiece add more sustain and make string changing easier. Limited lifetime warranty.

  • Excellent guitar, exceptional value!!

As reviewed by No1KISSfan on 1/30/2008

I have always wanted a Les Paul but was never able to afford a Gibson, so I started to look at the Epiphone's. At first I was skeptical. I know, made by Gibson and all, but come on. How could it be even close to a real Les Paul? Well, let me tell you......It's real close. This studio Les Paul is incredible!! I got mine in stunning ebony. The finish is like a mirror. It comes with Alnico Humbucker open coil pick-ups, a set neck, Grover tuners, a black pickguard......I mean, all that for a really cheap price is fantastic. It plays like a dream and I recommend it to anyone, even if you can afford a Gibson. I'll never buy another brand of guitar again!!

  • I LOVE this guitar

As reviewed by Nicole on 1/28/2011

This is my first epi, and I absolutely love it! The tone is beautiful, and it has a really smooth, classic sound. I've always been a Fender girl, but I may have to switch. Apart from having a great sound, this guitar is also easy to tune, and its light weight makes it easier to play. I would recommend this model to anyone.

  • Ok, i guess

As reviewed by Ryan on 8/3/2011

i got one of these studios in black this past christmas, and it started out fine. but that was just the luster of a new guitar. when the new luster wore off, and after gigging with it once or twice i started noticing flaws . the rosewood fretboard really isnt that great, for starters, the pickups are basic epiphone stock pickups, not too great for distortion, ive had to fix the intonation on it twice now, and the input jacks come loose and had to be tightened. it does come with a pretty good pricetag for what you pay for (mine was a gift) but not a very impressive guitar.
