NEW REVIEW - A great guitar for ANYONE
When I heard that Guitar Center was having a trade in trade up sale, I figured it was about time I got rid of my old Fender Strat. I used my trade in money and some birthday money to buy the Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top. I had played this guitar before but on just a clean sound. But when I plugged it in to my amp and put some distortion on it, it sounded great! I use a line 6 floor pod plus for my distortion and this guitar sounded great on every amp model. Some of the best things about it are that there is little feedback and it has great sustain. The three way toggle switch also gives you a variety of sounds, but I mainly have it on treble. The two volume knobs and two tone knobs let you customize your sound even more. But one of the best things about this guitar is the finish. I got the heritage cherry sunburst version and it looks great. The neck and fretboard are also great. I have no complaints so far so if you are looking for a great guitar at a great price, I highly recommend this to anyone.

NEW REVIEW - great guitar
I got this guitar as my first guitar about a year and a half ago, and it is Great. The only problems i have had with it is the area were you plug in the cord falls into the guitar and you have to take apart part of the guitar to get it out. Although, it is a defect with the Les Paul style of guitars. Other than that it plays great. I mainly use it for clean, but you can use it with just about any pickup or pedal. I have played a Gibson Les Paul which is a lot more expensive than the Epaphone Les Paul and I think that there is no difference in the two. I recommend this guitar for any level guitar player.

Love it
I went to Guitar Center to find a Les Paul, so I could upgrade from my squier strat. From the moment I plugged in, I knew this was my guitar. The neck is so smooth, and the finish is great. Pickups deliver a good variety of sounds. Also, some people think Epiphones don't stay in tune, well this one did! Overall, this guitar can be played by anyone, from begginers to pros. Way to go Epiphone!

Road Warrior
I bought this guitar about a year ago. At the time I was on the road playing about 4 to 5 times a week. I could have bought a much more expensive guitar but (as I'm sure all road musicians know) they get fudged up on the road. Well this thing withstood everything from the salt water air on the beach in Destin to the humidity in Louisiana. Excellent sound and easy playability. No problems whatsoever. If you are a beginner or a serious working musician, this is a value buy. It delivers tone that I didn't think possible for its price range, if you want more simply put some les paul pickups in it to hot rod it and your on your way

Great Intermediate Guitar
This guitar has done well for me. I really enjoy have complete control over the two pickups. If you think epiphones are just a cheap knock off of gibsons this guitar will prove you wrong. Most people when they hear my guitar think its a gibson because of the quality of the tone but its a epiphone. I would suggest this to any intermediate player who wants to step up from an begginer but can't afford to buy professional grade guitars.

Lots for the money
At 52 years young, and a player since I was 9, you can believe there aren't many brands and models I haven't had in my hands at one time or another. For the money, this one's hard to beat.
Out of the box, it does require some set up, but a good tech can tweak it to your liking.

It's No Gibson.
This Epiphone Les Paul Standard is a surprising deal and guitar. This korean knockoff of an LP actually does a very good job of holding up on its own. The tone and sound is impressive, and the build of it is worthy of being a very nice guitar. Out of the box, a few adjustments to the action had to be made, but other than that, it was completely playable, and in prestine condition. It's no Gibson, but it's a great guitar nonetheless.

Ah - flippin' - mazing!
Seriously, it had always been a dream of mine to play and own a Gibson Les Paul. Sadly, i don't have the money to buy one, so i thought an Epi would do me for now. I am definitely pleased with this guitar. She looks and plays like a beauty, the action is right where I like it, the sound is surprisingly close to a Gibson LP! Not exactly as hot, but pretty darn close! The pickups could be hotter, but for what I play (which is praise & worship, and rock), it suits me well!!! The wide tonal range is amazing!! I can get a raunchy distorted rock sound, or a nice clean blues sound. I have finally found the love of my life!!!

Great Guitar
I am an intermediate guitar player and I wanted a nice guitar. I knew that I wanted a Les Paul but the Gibsons were out of my price range. This guitars finish is incredible and stays looking great. The tone is so much better than I thought an epiphone could give. The neck is perfect and easy to play. I was skeptical at first because I had heard that it does not stay in tune. I was wrong because it stays in tune very well. This is a great guitar for a great price.

So far, so good!
I read a lot of reviews of this baby before buying. Maybe I just got plain lucky. Mine showed up pretty much flawless. None of the problems with the finish that I'd read about. Solidly build. Decent setup right out of the box. Beautiful flame on top. Stays in tune like a champ. Best bang for the buck I've run across to date. Yes, you will eventually want to change out the pickups for something more to your liking, but otherwise a tremendous value.
