NEW REVIEW - Never Again
I made the mistake of exchanging my recently bought Epiphone LP for a Fender Strat. I regretted it the moment I took it home and plugged it in my amp. The sound was nowhere near the amazingness I had found with my LP. I went back to my local GC and exchanged my exchange. This is the guitar for me. I was lucky enough that they had one in the back still in the box... nothing like a fresh guitar.

NEW REVIEW - Les Paul Quality, EPI price
I've been playing in a covers band for over 30 years, using several Strat style guitars as my one and only axe - until this past summer when I discovered a low end EPI. I was so impressed with the sound I got out of that sweet guitar, that I knew I was going to buy an EPI LP as soon as I could. My local GC took down my name and promised they would call if they took in a clean EPI LP. Sure enough, last night I got a call only 2 hours before band parctice letting me know that they had just taken in a Honeyburst ( THE sweetest finish of em all )EPI LP Standard. It was like brand new - strings and all. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it sitting there waiting for me to take it home. Two hours later, I was practicing with my new axe.
I haven't touched my Strat copy since spring and now that I own this awesome guitar, I probably never will. I can't take my eyes off of this beauty - I've already plugged in and played it 3 times this morning just to hear that sweet sound. So beautiful and rich. Everything about this guitar is of the highest quality - the finish, the Grover tuners, the HBs that beat the crap out of any Strat pup, the action and feel and that never ending LP sound. I do have to get used to a heavier guitar than I'm used to - but it will be no problem when I plug in and hear the sound Les himself made famous. If you get a chance to buy this guitar, buy it as soon as you can. For the buck, it's a steal.

NEW REVIEW - Amazing Guitar for the $$
This is a fantastic, set-neck guitar right off the shelf. They have a nice finish, fast neck and good tuners. Personally, the factory pickups leave a little to be desired. I installed Gibson 496 and 498 pickups in both my Epi LP standards, did a nice set-up and WOW! as nice as my Gibson LP's. A great value for a sweet guitar!

Just got it. LOVE IT!
After wanting a Les Paul for about fifteen years, I finally said "what the heck". I couldn't be happier.
It is the most solid and smooth felling guitar I have ever owned. I'm an experienced player & own a couple of Strats, but this thing (even though it's
"only an Epiphone")has the warmest tone, sweetest action, & the most stunning looks of all my guitars. As I said the overall feel is just amazing; as is the construction quality. The Epiphone Plain Top Les Paul is hands down the best guitar on the market in it's price range(and a few other price ranges). Perfect for all styles. Perfect for all experience levels. Totally recomend it.

How can you go wrong?
Great Price, Great Sound, Great Guitar. Amazing Deal, there is nothing bad about this guitar. It's one of the best guitar's for its price. I would highly, HIGHLY recommend it.

So so sweet...
I just got my Epiphone Les Paul Standard in Cherry Burst at my local GC. The one they had in stock had some damage from a control knob set too low that was scratching the finish. They ordered me a new one and said that I could take the slightly messed up one in the meantime. I brought it home yesterday and plugged it into a Line 6 Spider III 15w amp that I got along with the guitar. Needless to say, this setup rocked. The guitar screams, the action is fast (which I need because I have small hands), it looks beautiful, and in all honesty, i feel like it make me play better. I have played the electric guitar on and off since I was 8. When I went to college i switched almost exclusively to acoustic because college chicks dig acoustic guitars. Now that I'm out on my own and have my own place and a paycheck I figured it was time to upgrade from my Squier Affinity sitting on the floor of my bedroom in Jersey to a new electric. I am so impressed and stoked out on this rig. Also, GC is the best music store around... so accomodating. The sustain on the guitar is amazing, the pickups can create some hot licks as well as soulful goooves. Before I got this guitar I was looking for the magic product - cheap and feature filled... after much deliberation this was the one for me.

Don't Pay for the Sticker On Top
This is indeed a great guitar, however, Epiphone uses a wood-grain sticker instead of real wood under the finish on plain tops, flame tops, and quilt top Epi's. A guitar shop told me that and I called Gibson CS to verify. They said that is absolutely true other than for some of the expenseive Elitist models. Features and sound being the same, buy the ebony LP and save yourself $20-30. Don't get me wrong, I love my LP, but I'm glad I bought the Ebony. At least its real paint according to Gibson. I've had mine for 6 months and absolutely love it.

really good
like what the other guy said, if you don't have the money to buy a gibson, get an epiphone. for a $400 guitar, this is your best choice. it really feels like a gibson. when i play this guitar, sometimes i forget that this is an epiphone. the pictures don't do justice on this standard plain top. they actually look much better in person. so if you want a gibson feel without the price tag, get an epi.
p.s. "i compared this with the ibanez rg series (the one for 449.99) and the ibanez just couldn't compare to this guitar."

Great Guitar
I have one of these babies from 1990 and I absolutely love it. I put a Bigsby and Gibson tuners on it. Great feel and sound through every amp I plug it into. I even prefer it over most Gibsons. You can't go wrong with it.

MUST HAVE GUITAR!
I was looking for a good guitar for a while, and was planning on getting on for my birthday. I had tried some out before and it was mostly between the Fender/Squier strat and the Epiphone Les Paul or sg. So when Guitar Center had it's Labor Day sale, I went down there and saw this amazing guitar on sale for over 200 bucks less! I tried out a ton of guitars before this one-Ibanez, Gretsh, Fender, Squier, and more...and this was by far the best! Awesome guitar with an amazing sound on distortion because of the two big humbuckers! I was stunned at how warm and fat the sound was on clean, too. This guitar was my favorite the whole time...The only problem I have with it is that it is a lot heavier than any of the other guitars...Les Pauls are known for being heavy. But as long as you have a good strap, you'll be fine. So I recommend getting this guitar over a Fender any day. Also, don't waste all your money on a Gibson when you can have a just as good guitar in this Epiphone Les Paul.
