NEW REVIEW - Epiphone
This guitar is pretty nice for a beginner guitar.I bought it in December of 2007.When I first got it, I loved it. But after playing it for awhile, the chrome on the tailpiece started to bubble and peel. My bridge pickup started rusting, and it doesn't hold that great of tune. But the tone is pretty good, not so much with the 10 watt amp it comes with but with my Laney 60 watt amp it sounds pretty good. The cord it came with shorted out the first or second day I had it. So look into buying a cord when you buy the guitar. But other than these small and inexpensive flaws, the guitar is nice.

Great Deal for the Cash
I purchased this pack around December of 2006. I love the guitar... speed knobs, smooth neck, great sound-it's no gibson- but it sounds great! The 10-watt amp is good enough for at home practice but if you plan on playing in a band or performing of any kind then you need to look into a larger amp. The cable that comes with it shorted out on me after a month of play but cables are inexpensive so that wasn't that big of a deal... anywhoo... this is a great guitar for beginners and is well worth the money.

Best Beginner Guitar Out There
This is the best starter guitar you can buy without spending an arm and a leg. Ihave had it for nearly four months, and it hasn't even shown a trace of going out of tune. The amp is alright for a 10W. I bought the Line Six Spider 30W which brings out the true sound of the guitar. The static on the 10W drove me crazy. My only complaint is that the pickups don't have their own tone and volume knobs, but you can still make the guitar sound like gold. If you are looking for a great starter, buy this guitar before Epiphone drives the price up.

Epiphone Les Paus Special ll Player Pack
This is a great guitar for people have just started playing. It's a great deal because you get the guitar, gig bag,10W amp, strap, picks, instructional video, and a tuner. I started out with this guitar and it sounds really good for what I payed for it. I now have a newer amp for it and effects pedals. The amp they give you is okay, but I would recomend a Marshall,Crate,or Fender amp. The tone sounds great for the kind of music I play. As I said before if your a first time player I would really recomend this guitar.

a great beginner package
The Epiphone Les Paul Special 2 Player Pack is an awesome package for anyone on a budget. You won't find a better guitar and amp for anywhere close to this price. A friend of mine who is learning to play guitar puchased one of these. After picking it up and playing it I was impressed. The guitar has a nice feel to it, and the pickups sound good. The neck also has a nice feel and plays fast. The guitar feels like any other les paul. The amp is pretty good for a practice amp. This is definetely the best package for the money.

Not bad at all
I've owned this Guitar for 3 years now and it was definitely worth the money. I had always heard that Epiphones' were cheap Gibson knockoffs, but I totally disagree. The neck is not too fat and it's fairly comfortable to play. The default strings are ok (I had to replace them 3 weeks after I bought it.) The tone isn't too bad...for the price. I only have a couple of minor complaints. The cable that comes with it needs to be replaced the second after you buy it. The strap is just as bad(I was playing when the strap snapped and my guitar crashed to the ground and, if you can believe it, it still works just as good.) This guitar does not stay tuned at all, I have to re-tune it once every hour I play it, no joke. The amp that comes with it isn't the greatest but hey, you're not gonna gig with a starter package so don't worry about it. All in all I'd say this guitar is definitely worth it for the price. Go on and buy it, I promise you won't regret it.

My first guitar
I've wanted to learn to play guitar for many years but it just never happened. Discovering this awesome Epiphone Player Pack made me decide the time was right. As a beginner, buying the package made sense as everything I needed was included. I am very happy with this system. The guitar looks and sounds great, the amp is compact but really delivers, and the tuner is easy to use. I highly recommend this package to anyone who wants to try guitar at a great price. Rock on!

Guitar is great but save up for a new amp
I have been playing guitar for less than a year and this starter pack is great. The guitar is very nice - had some fret buzzing at first but not any more since its broken in. The included amp is good enough to get you started, but after you learn how to play some songs you will want to get a better one with more bass, more punch, and effects. Just got a Spider IV 15W amp and it sounds great with this guitar. So buy this starter pack now and save up for a new amp in about 6 months.
