Les Paul Special II
Epiphone's number one selling model LP Special II is a great way for beginners to get started on guitar while getting the feel and tone of a Les Paul. Seasoned pros also love the Special II because it's a great-sounding workhorse of a guitar that allows them to leave their more expensive axes at home.

The Electar-15R amp is a 15-watt amp with overdrive. It features 3-band EQ for tone shaping and reverb. There's also an input for headphones.

  • Great for Beginners

As reviewed by Liz Harding on 1/26/2013

This guitar pack is awesome! The Epiphone Special 2 guitar is great for beginners and its at an affordable price too! The Electar Amplifier is also very high quality. I've had this pack for a couple of days now and I've been loving it. Definitely get it if you're looking for a good guitar just to shred on and not really care about.

  • Know what you're looking for before you buy

As reviewed by Patrick on 3/7/2015

I've got this for Christmas 2014, and so I've had it for a little over a year. Before you buy this, you have to gauge why you are buying it. The fact is- I've replaced everything I got from this pack, except the actual guitar. I had been playing acoustic for a few months before I got this, so when I got it, I played it with a ton of distortion. By May, the amp was shot, since 15 watts can't really handle that. The cable also stopped working, and the strap would not stay on. I would recommend this pack if you really aren't sure if you'll still be playing by the end of the year. However, if you're pretty sure you want to play for a while, you might save some cash in the long run spending a little bit more money upfront and buying a nicer amp and cable. The actual guitar is pretty good. It gets the job done, and it has nice clean sound as well as cool distortion through the right amp. It's not super pretty looking in my opinion, but the tone is what really matters. My biggest complaint about this guitar is that the fretwork isn't that good. In the dry weather, the frets jut out a litte bit and it can get uncomfortable. I also see a lot of reviews about the tuners not being very good. They're right, it's not great, but fine enough. I'm probably going to get a nicer guitar in a year or two, although this one's fine for now. Again, you have to decide what's right for you. Don't just read reviews, with something like a guitar, it's probably something you should go to a store and test before you buy.
