Can't Get Much Better

I purchased this guitar almost 1 year ago for my birthday. I must say this thing is a beast. For whatever type of sound your looking for blues, rock, metal, it's all there. I can't be more pleased with this. The pickups on it are amazing and i would definately reccomend to a begginer or a pro. The only bad thing i can say is that the guitar smudges easily and after a while of playing the gold on the hardware starts to flake off. but hardly noticable when playing AWESOME GUITAR!

rockin axe for price

I have had this guitar since 2003, so I can actually give you a full review! some say it is heavey, but think about it... if it's this heavy it must be well built and have more sustain right? the answer is yes, it has a very distinct sound (a bit bassy), verry strong. plays very well and feels great in your hands. I only have 2 things to complain about... one, sometimes it's almost to much bass, you can't get a crunchy treble out of it, and the switch seams to lack life ( i had to have it replaced within the first year and is giving me trouble again). all in all it really is a GREAT guitar though!!!! you will not be upstaged by any other guitar, as it will flat over power any stock guitar within $1k of it!!! not to mention it just looks rockin. I would highly recomend one to anyone be it country soft rock or grinding in your face kickin butt metal!!! you won't be dissapointed.

Epiphone Les Paul Black Beauty

This is an amazing guitar. Very well built, very nice detailing on the headstock and body of the guitar. This thing is solid as a rock, and unfortunately just as heavy. That is my only complaint: This thing is heavy, so heavy in fact that I actually broke a set of strap-locks a few months ago. When I first picked it up in the store I thought for sure this thing must've been tied down or something. Anyway, this guitar is great for jazz playing, rock, grunge, metal, blues....anything. The third/middle pickup makes it much more versitile than your average Les Paul, and it sounds very much like a strat. I can literally play anything with this guitar, Hendrix to Clapton to SRV, to Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam - and everything in between. Out of all my guitars, this gets played the most - by far! Sounds great through Fenders or Marshalls, etc., whichever you prefer. Great for gigging, but not recommended unless you happen to have a VERY comfortable strap (once again, just because of the weight). This guitar is well worth the money. A few weeks ago I go wandering into the local guitar shop, and I see the Epiphone Zakk Wylde Bullseye Les Paul model, so I figure I'd try it out. Now get this, the Zakk Wylde model is $100 more than the Black Beauty, and the Black Beauty blows it out of the water. Black Beauty has a much warmer tone and it actually feels like a guitar in your hands. Save yourself $100 and get this, you will NOT regret it. This is, in my opinion, the best Epiphone you can get that's under $1000. GET IT!

can it get any better?

This three pickup monster has the price of an epi, the sound of a gibson and the look of a goddess. The output of the humbucks is amazing, the action is unbeatable( it doesn't even feel like you are fretting the guitar, it feels like pushing putty around), and the price is perfect.

Life With The Black Beauty

I would like to post a quick follow up regarding this guitar. Now that I have lived with it, and played every day: The more I have played it, the more impressed I am. I don't like to gush about it, but..it sounds so nice, and is so easy to play...it has unlocked my creativity like never before! I have come up with several songs (music only) that I really love. Not saying thay will ever be published or anything: it is just great fun. No problems with the hardware or anything has happened. It holds its tune beautifully, even when I am slamming the strings hard. Here it is folks! This is a great guitar for the money--I could not be happier. Guess I want other musicians to give it a shot. I can barely wait to play it every day.
