Epiphone Left-Handed Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar (518559)
Availability:

Epiphone supports your right to rock on a Paul even if your handedness is left.

While all Les Pauls share common design features, the Les Paul Custom differed from the Les Paul Standard in that it's body was solid Mahogany without a Maple cap. Epiphone's LP Custom follows that tradition by using a solid, carved Mahogany body giving it a slightly mellower tone. Like the originals, attached to the body is a solid mahogany neck with a hand-fitted, glued-in joint for optimum neck-to-body contact and acting almost like one continuous piece of wood. The neck features a very comfortable and fast "SlimTaper" neck profile that has become the most popular profile found on Les Pauls today. The result is a tribute to Les' timeless guitar design with the sound and feel that you can only get from a real Les Paul. The Epiphone Left-Handed Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar has all the right stuff in a southpaw configuration. Based on the original Les Paul design that, since 1954, has been shaping rock history with its powerful tone and prolonged sustain, the Epiphone Les Paul Custom Left-Handed Electric Guitar has 2 Alnico Classic humbuckers, set mahogany neck, and a rosewood fingerboard with block inlays.
At the heart of the Les Paul Custom is a pair of Epiphone Alnico Classic humbucking pickups. Patterned after the original Gibson '57 Classics, these pickups combine Alnico-V magnets with enamel wire to give you a tone that is warm and subtle with full, even response that doesn't hold back when you need that classic humbucker crunch! The neck pickup is an Alnico Classic while the bridge pickup is an Alnico Classic Plus. The "Plus" is slightly over wound to give it a little bit higher output without sacrificing its rich, vintage tone. Other time-honored Custom features include gold hardware and body, neck, and headstock binding. A classic solidbody at a working guitarist's price. • Can't tell a difference

As reviewed by Brandon on 11/17/2007

I bought this guitar online and it just got here. So i called my cousin, who has a Gibson Les Paul standard, and we couldn't tell a difference between the tone. This guitar sounds just like the GIBSON Les Paul!! I highly recommend this guitar. It's great for people who aren't the best, but are pretty good, like me. If you have the money, get the gibson, but this works just as well. IT'S AWESOME!!!

  • Sounds Great

As reviewed by Ryan Richardson on 1/2/2009

I think the black beauty sounds amazing, i've heard a lot of great sounding guitars and played along musicians with the Gibson Les Paul Standard and it sounds the same, its a great guitar, I play it as often as I can and it has a nice rich, deep, think tone to it, but then switch it to lead and turn up the treble and its crisp and sharp but still wide. For the price I think this guitar is amazing, and not just cause its cheap, i've played much more expensive guitars then this and I still love mine, it just feels right. its a very comfortable fit. If your thinking of getting one, then stop, and go get it.

  • All Around Impressive Guitar

As reviewed by GitarMan on 5/8/2010

This guitar surprised me with its tone and the way it played right out of the box. Since I have always played a semi-hollow style, I wanted to try something different. This black beauty really impressed me. I adjusted the action to where I like it (not that there was a problem right out of the box)and it was even more of a joy to play. The quality of the workmanship and the gold hardware really make this guitar a beautiful instrument. If your a lefty, you know we don't have a lot of options. The Les Paul Custom is a great choice. Thanks Epiphone!!
