Product Information

Vital mid-'60s SG specs for a screaming low price.

The Epiphone Limited Edition 1966 G-400 Electric Guitar is a Gibson-authorized version of their great '66 SG with a solid mahogany body and slim-taper set mahogany neck. Some subtle-yet-significant differences make this one special. Instead of the small, lower horn-only pickguard, it has the larger pickguard so there aren't any pickup mounting rings around the high-output Alnico Classic humbuckers (the '66 SG had P-90 pickups). Separate volume and tone controls for each of the pickups give you complete control of your sound. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece provide more sustain and string changing easier. The deep double-cutaway lets you reach all 22 frets with ease.

With our Guaranteed Lowest Price, you can be assured of complete satisfaction and the lowest available price, or your money back!

NEW REVIEW - bday gift from heaven

I have had this guitar for a little under a year, and i have to say that this guitar really delivers. The sound is amazing and it feels great. The only problem i have is the jack on the guitar for the cable on mine is lose and can sometimes mess up the sound. But everything else on this guitar is amazing! Highly recomended!

If You Want Blood (You've Got It)

This is one of the best Epiphone's I've ever played. This guitar is second only to the Epi Les Paul Standard. It's perfect for any type of music style, especially AC/DC styled classic rock, and the blues. I bought this Guitar in the Guitar Center store for $300, and it was well worth more than that. The neck is fast, the frets are easy to play on, and the stock strings compliment the guitar nicely. The stock pickups shine through any amp, whether it be a really crappy one to a very high end Marshall. This guitar is worth the money, I have no problems with this guitar at all.

Excellent Instrument

This is a real steal from Epiphone, this instrument is built to the exact standards of a Gibson guitar, with the exceptions of lower end pickups that you should replace with whatever suits your sound, and the finish and woodwork is not as high quality as the Gibson model, so basically you save yourself about nine hundred dollars to get an instrument of about parallel quality.

ABSOLUTELEY AMAZING!!!

This guitar is amazing! I was looking at the Gibson SG Standards, but I heard that I could get something just as good for a lot cheaper- great example, THIS! It is absolutely beautiful and plays great. It is a little heavy, but I play mostly sitting anyway. Epiphone really combined cost with quality in this guitar. Great guitar for a great price!

Awesome

This is such a great guitar. I got it as a Christmas present and I love it. I play in a rock band and this guitar has not failed to perform perfectly yet!!! I love how it lets you reach the lower frets easily. This is just as good as or better that a Gibson. No matter what anyone says.

Love at first sight

I have always loved the look and sound of an SG, and this one is no exception. It feels as good as any upscale Gibson I have played, with an almost equally good sound to boot. The guitar seems to come alive when fired up through my Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier. Great clean, great overdriven, and for the money just an all around great guitar.

Great guitar

I've had this guitar for about a year now and I couldnt be happier. It is an amazing guitar and the pick ups in my opinion are fantastic. The only flaws it has is it is a little top heavy and the place you attacth your strap is not a good one. My strap keeps coming off cause it is very insecure and its just placed in a bad spot on the guitar. Overall the guitar sounds great both the clean and distortion.

Almost like a real sg!

Awesome guitar. Plays almost exactly like a real sg. The only thing is that the pickups kinda suck. You should pickup some better pickups if you are buyin this guitar. Overall its a sic guitar that any serious guitarist should own.

JUST LIKE ANGUS

I got this guitar in November of last year and there isn't hardly a day that goes by where I dont play it. The only problems I have with it are it doesnt like to stay in tune too well, but its A LOT better that most cheaper gutars, and its also neck heavy. Otherwise I love this guitar!!!! If I had the money for a real Gibson SG i'd get one but since I don't this is the guitar that (if your like me) you HAVE to get!!!! Trust me!

my favorite guitar

this guitar is awesome!!! ive only had it for a little over a year which is how long ive been playing. ive played many different versions of the Gibson SG and i still like this the best. the neck is just awesome. you can get the different harmonics and squeals out with no problem. ive only had one problem and that is where the nut for the plug in has twisted loose but it was an easy fix and just tightened it up. awesome guitar. perfect for a beginner like me or anyone for that matter. 5 stars hands down
