Epiphone ES-175 Reissue Electric Guitar (103844122)
Availability:

A fabulous classic archtop almost anybody can afford.

The Epiphone ES-175 Electric Guitar brings back one of the world's most beloved instruments. In 1949 Gibson introduced the ES-175 to enduring and well-deserved acclaim. Since it was primarily an electric guitar, it didn't need the very large dimensions of a classic archtop, but it still benefited from the full hollowbody resonance of an archtop design enhanced by Gibson's fabulous new humbuckers. This Epiphone version has the same sumptuous vintage vibe of the original, including dual Alnico Classic humbuckers, a meticulously applied sunburst finish, split parallelogram fretboard inlays on a bound rosewood fretboard, rosewood bridge base, gold top hat knobs, and deco trapeze tailpiece.

With our Guaranteed Lowest Price, you can be assured of complete satisfaction and the lowest available price, or your money back!

Epiphone ES-175 Reissue Electric Guitar Features:

  • Maple top, back and sides
    Set mahogany neck
    Rosewood fretboard and bridge base
    Alnico Classic humbuckers
    Bound top, back, and fretboard
    Chrome hardware

  • A rockin' blues machine

As reviewed by Old Timer on 2/11/2011

I bought an Epi. ES-175 a few weeks ago and have good raves about it. For the money you can't beat it. It's built well and sounds great. I bought it for some mellow woodsey tones but it turns out it is a really good blues axe too. Out of the box it played well. It comes with 11's but changed down to 10's and still sounds good. My other guitars have 9's but I won't go that low on this. When you're not plugged in it sounds good acoustically too. It's not a Gibson but for the money...hey

  • Epiphone ES-175

As reviewed by Robert Roth on 10/19/2011

Great guitar, great price. Just got mine last week (October 2011), part of a new shipment. Was surprised that the pickups, bridge, tail piece and pickguard holder are now all gold plated, and not chrome like the earlier version. Only wish they took the gold plating all the way and also used gold plated tuners, instead of the chrome plated tuners. The knurled nut on the flipper switch is still chrome, but that's so minor.

  • Amazing Guitar!!!!!!!!

As reviewed by Gene on 7/15/2011

First off, I wanted this Guitar because it was the one John Fogerty Used on his first 2 albums as CCR, Creedence Clearwater Revival & Bayou Country, until it was stolen from his car at the studio up in San Fran. He then switched to the Les Paul Custom, also a great guitar. I just absolutely "Love" the tones this guitar produces!!! Such a Clean sound and very versitle. You can play any genre of music and make this guitar sound right to fit. I think it is probably just about the Best Buy for the money! If you look at the Gibson, it's about 8 times the price, and I'm sure as it goes with Gibson the intonation is probably unparalleled, but, for the difference in price I would Highly Recommend you give the Epi a shot first. This thing sounds like a $2,000 + guitar! Right out of the box this thing played perfect, and the only thing I noticed is that in Drop D tuning my sixth string will buzz a little. It looks to be a heavy set, though I don't know what guage. I will probably go with 10's. I have owned a few different guitars, acoustic and electric over the last 34yrs. and I have never owned one that produces the sound this one does. I think this guitar, Today, is a very well kept secret. I know back in 1949 and following it was known and widely used. If you do Jazz, Blues, Rock, Classic Rock, or just about anything else, you Must give this ES-175 a try!!! I promise you won't regret it. As for the guy who left a 4 star, but very negative review, I am hard pressed to believe anything he said. To those of us who have been reading reviews on here for years and to anyone who has picked up this guitar and actually played it, knows that his review is a spoof. It's amazing that anyone could write such a bad review about this guitar. He probably plays one of those Toys R' Us Setups, i dunno, just a thought :-) I think that this will always be my most cherished guitar in my collection, for 2 reasons as I stated earlier. The "John Fogerty" factor, and the most Amazing Sound!!!!!!!!! Thanks for taking the time to read my review, I know it was long, but if you knew me, it's actually quite short ;-)
