      Epiphone EL-00 Acoustic Guitar (518369)
Availability:

Simple, elegant, and excellent for the parlor or the studio.

This small-bodied, easy-to-play gem recalls the era when guitars were built to be played on front porches and in dens and parlors, not bars or voluminous theaters. There's no rhythm section to compete with here.

Just pick up this great looking 00-sized acoustic with mahogany body and solid spruce top for that sweet vintage tone and ringing sound. Features a set mahogany neck with hand-fitted dovetail neck joint, 24.75" scale, rosewood fingerboard, and chrome hardware. From the period-correct mother-of-pearl dot inlay to the deluxe pickguard with historic metal "E" logo, this guitar authentically recreates the treasured original L-00 "blues boxes" of the '30s and '40s.

  • Great Value IN A Great Guitar!

As reviewed by Jerry on 11/19/2009

I rate this guitar 5 stars, given the incredible value for the money and the exceptional overall quality. With mine, I adjusted the truss rod to bring the high action down to a nice low and easy to play level (something ALL owners should do with their new guitars!), changed the high tension stock strings to lower tension strings, and now the guitar has great playability. This is an excellent value in a parlor-sized acoustic with a solid spruce top that plays well and sounds superb. The string spacing of the 1 11/16 inch nut seems tight if you've become used to finger picking on 1 3/4 inch nut guitars, but you get used to it. The EL-00 is beautifully finished, and it's a great buy. Remember folks, it's not WHERE the guitar is made, it's the design, the quality of materials, and the execution of assembly that makes for a quality guitar. The EL-00 is so nice, and so inexpensive, that it would make a wonderful gift for any guitarist of any level, and it's especially nice when you need a smaller bodied guitar with a slimmer neck. I commend Epiphone/Gibson for continuing to produce this great little guitar!

  • Epiphone EL-00 Acoustic Guitar - Amazing!!!

As reviewed by Pat Tafolla on 12/7/2009

I am completely satisfied with my purchase of this guitar. I bought it after reading the reviews and it didn't disappoint. It is larger than your typical parlor but smaller than a full size guitar but with a sound that is pleasing and full. I have to also mention that it is a very beautiful guitar. I highly recommend this guitar.

  • Great guitar for modest expectations

As reviewed by Ken on 12/13/2010

This guitar does exactly what you would expect. It sounds great for a guitar in this price range, and plays quite well. I am very happy with the instrument - once I changed the strings, the sound and playability improved dramatically. Worth every penny...
