Crisp highs, full bottom end

Comments about Eminence Legend CB158 15" 300W Bass Speaker:

I used the Eminence Legend CB158 as replacement speaker for an Ampeg SVT-15, It fits perfectly, and really upgrades the sound, along with increasing power handling from 200 to 300 watts. It aligns very well with the existing cabinet size, and the existing ports tune the system to just about 45 Hz, providing a deep, rounded low end, without distortion. The high end, especially for a 15" speaker, is surprisingly clear and clean. It allows my Rickenbacker to sing. Highly recommended.

Great speaker but...

By robert

from Sacramento, California

Comments about Eminence Legend CB158 15" 300W Bass Speaker:

Quite a better build than the stock speaker in the cabinet and upon hooking everything up, the sound grabbed my attention and at a low volume, the tone had what was missing: a third dimension. But, I haven't had the chance to break in the speaker and play at performance volume, yet. This is because the existing mounting hardware could not properly seat the speaker against the baffle board of the cabinet - the "flange" of the Eminence speaker is twice as thick as what the mounting hardware was designed for. As a result, the front of the speaker is in contact with the metal grille, so in order to properly and securely mount the speaker, the T-nut/heel clamp arrangement must be re-configured to seat the speaker as designed and the metal grille must be raised with shims. Wood screws can be used to mount the speaker (as per the fine folks at Eminence), but the grille problem remains to be addressed. I like the tone so much that I am having wooden shims cut to size and re-installing different T-nuts (from metric to standard), and spacers for the metal grille and finding longer attachment screws/bolts to compensate for the difference of speaker flange thickness. The cabinet is designed for front-loading the speaker, so rear-loading may not be such a problem.

Comments about Eminence Legend CB158 15" 300W Bass Speaker:

I have played many differnt types of bass amps over the years. Eminence makes high quality speakers and i would recommend them for anyone. They have a nice solid bass bottom end sound that is unmatchable. Shipping was amazing. The speaker came in within 5 days of purchase. NO complaints. 100% satisfied.

Deep, Loud, and Full

By Lawrence

from Hollywood, FL

Comments about Eminence Legend CB158 15" 300W Bass Speaker:

5/5 Stars! Man I thought the speaker was buzzing at first but I realized that it everything else in my room was vibrating. AND THE SPEAKER CONE WAS BARELY MOVING!!! Anyway, low lows, clear highs, who needs 10's? I rock out one of these in an old Acoustic cab hooked up to a Hartke Transient Attack with a Yamaha Bass.

Great Speaker

By Mark Buvelot

from Enfield, CT

Comments about Eminence Legend CB158 15" 300W Bass Speaker:

Replaced speaker in Ampeg ABS115 combo amp. Originally replaced speaker 30 years ago with Eminence. I believe older speaker failed due to misuse by another. The Legend CB158 was a pleasant surprise. I has a rich, full clear sound. It makes my 30 year old amp sound as good as anything today
