I replaced the stock speaker in my Peavey valve king 112 with this speaker. WOW!!! What a difference! I was going to sell this amp and am I glad I didn't. Now the smallest eq adjustments make a huge difference. Lots of bottom end out of an open back combo. Much, much improved clarity & 'sparkle'. Highly recommended for valve king owners (you will LOVE your amp). Nice job Eminence.
Installed three Man O' Wars and one Tonker in a spare 4x12 cab I had lying around. These speakers are insanely heavy. Be prepared to invest in some casters. They are really efficient and possess an improved 'sweet spot' over the speakers they replaced. The cab used to have a narrow 'throw' pattern in that it could be heard best if you were directly in front of it. With the Eminence speakers I get a much wider dispersion which has allowed me to turn the amp down a bit while still cutting through the mix. Very versatile. I play acoustic, metal and alternative but throw in some blues for good measure. These speakers handle every type of tone I throw at them well but perform well especially with the metal. I am extremely happy with the tone I get from them and have never had any problems with them distorting because I pushed them past their limits.
Used these to replace 75W stock OEM Eminence speakers in two 2x12 Tube Works cabinets. Soldered them in better than the originals; nuke-sub trained electrician. Each cab is stereo with each speaker stereo from my Mosvalve 962. Put them on the slanted top portion of the cab with Texas Heats on the bottom. These speakers sound very good (right out of the box); better than any Celestion I've ever heard. Clear highs and round lows. Very open sound after the stock units which were "coney" sounding, but clear. These sound like I'm playing off the CD! These can reproduce any sound required. No distortion at very high levels, just clarity, even with distorted tones. These things are like the Sirens, they will lull you into hearing loss. Trust me, get some!
