  • Guitar Center not standing up to what they sell !!!

As reviewed by ROBERT AURENTZ on 4/30/2014

I bought this speaker for a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and it was back ordered, when it came in I picked it up at the store Chico Ca and put this in the amp, first it was very chimney and lots of over tone , then it got better and after 3 days of playing the sound got really Great lots of nice mids and bass very articulate, really was very happy then it got a buzz in the sound even at low volumes in a open low E note, I thought it needed more break in time so I played it for a week and it still has a buzz, even out of the amp on my bench it has a buzz open low E note Buzzing. Called the store , they would not accept returns and it had only been 15 days !!!! Had to call Eminence and got a Ra # and have to ship it to them, they will fix or replace and ship back to me. Guitar Center would not do anything !!!!

  • Commonwealth 12 or JBL E-120?

As reviewed by Jboy on 3/22/2010

I was making my own Baltic Birch Cab like a Hard Truckers, and was looking for that JBL E-120 sound. This speaker delivers the goods with high sensitivity, Clear tone, no breakup, and High RMS wattage. Makes my Fender 65'Twin Reverb sing Like Jerry Garcia's. People often ask me if they are JBL E-120's, they are identical in looks and in TONE. You wont be sorry, don't bother to re-cone some 30 year old speaker with lower sensitivity and unknown outcomes. This does the job perfectly, and for less money. They are LOUD and you will NEVER BLOW THEM.

  • Commonwealths are the best!

As reviewed by BestFather on 2/10/2011

My daughter and I built a 2 x 12 guitar cabinet using birch plywood (excellent cabinet work with a mandarin orange water based stain finish - superb!). We evaluated many speakers and chose the commonwealths over everything; even JBL and higher priced Celestions. We made the right choice. Very high power handling, excellent tonal range and they are beautiful. They are very heavy though, so make sure your cabinet is sturdy. We will build another cabinet in 3 weeks. We will use either two more commonwealths or the eminence BassLite CA2010. Yes, bass speakers for a guitar cabinet. These two speakers are the best kept secret out there.
