Overview

Strum confidently with the same premium acoustic guitar strings that experienced players worldwide trust to keep their incredible tone longer than any other string available.

Unlike other string brands, Elixir Strings coats the whole string. This protects not only the outer string surface but also the gaps between the windings where common tone-deadening gunk typically builds up in other brands’ coated and uncoated guitar strings. Anti-Rust Plating on plain steel strings ensures longer tone life for the entire set.

Who wouldn’t love more quality playing time between the hassle and cost of string changes?

Engineered to endure, these acoustic strings constructed with phosphor bronze wrap wire boast a dynamic balance of rich, full-bodied tone and sparkling high-end clarity. Compared to our original POLYWEB Coating, the ultra-thin NANOWEB coating allows a more traditionally textured, “uncoated” feel.

For a slicker, gentler feel, try a set of strings with their original POLYWEB Coating. The 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with POLYWEB Coating, for example, might be a good fit if you want a more robust and rounded tone. On the other end of the tone spectrum, Elixir's 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating deliver a brighter, crisper tone alongside the same traditional feel as these phosphor bronze strings.

Of course, the kind of string you play is all a matter of personal preference. Not sure what tone or feel is right for you? Try them out for yourself, and find your new favorite string from Elixir Strings. Jam on and on (and on) with the same premium electric bass guitar strings that experienced players worldwide trust to keep their incredible tone longer than any other string available.

Specially developed based on in-depth feedback from more than a thousand bass players just like you, Elixir Strings' tailor-made selection of bass strings proudly includes nickel-plated and stainless steel construction options, four-, five- and six-string sets, long and extra-long scales, and virtually every gauge range you could possibly need. All with their innovative string coating technology. And unlike other string brands, Elixir Strings coats the whole string. This protects not only the outer string surface but also the gaps between the windings where common tone-deadening gunk typically builds up in other brands’ coated and uncoated guitar strings.

Who wouldn’t love more quality playing time between the hassle and cost of string changes?

Premium by design, these electric bass guitar strings constructed with nickel-plated steel wrap wire boast a rich, rounded tone with incredible clarity and a heavy mid-range presence. Meanwhile, the ultra-thin NANOWEB Coating, redesigned specifically for bass guitars, allows a smooth, natural feel that also enhances grip and reduces finger squeak.

For a brighter bass tone, try our Stainless Steel Bass Strings with NANOWEB Coating.

Of course, the kind of string you play is all a matter of personal preference. Not sure what tone is right for you? Try them out for yourself, and find your new favorite string from Elixir Strings.

These strings are excellent.

By himtnman

Comments about Elixir Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light/Medium (.012-.056):

I use these strings on my Taylor 6 Stings and they have out performed any other string sets I've used for top sound quality, hopefully this is what you we're all striving for. I have never had a problem with any of the wound strings unraveling. A little pricy though, but in this dept. I think you get what you pay for.

G String Blues

By lilredhenblues

from valley springs, ca

Comments about Elixir Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light/Medium (.012-.056):

These strings sound great! They ring and vibrate and hold their tone for an exceptionally long time. All 5 of them. The "G" string holds its tone but not its form. I play fingerstyle blues guitar and medium gauge strings are my preferance.I never use a slide outside of my own finger, and of course with blues, like to hammer and bend. The "G" string pops and unfurls near the bridge within a couple of weeks. I've had the same fait with my Gibsons 185 and Dove Artist, and my Martin HD-28. My fix for this problem has been to use a "G" string from a different manufacturer. The problem of poppin "G" never happens. Kind of a hassle but well worth it to take advantage of the long lasting Elixir tone.

Elixir Strings . . . Tough As A Jarhead Marine!

By Bob

Comments about Elixir Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light/Medium (.012-.056):

I'm a full time gigging musician. I play acoustic most of the time, but I use a Strat when the song requires. I play 6 days a week, with two gigs on both Thursday and Friday. I play as a solo artist, singing while accompanying myself on guitar, playing covers - classic rock, country, blues, jazz, Christian, and originals in Lubbock, TX, the Texas Hill Country, Ruidoso, NM, Nashville, TN, and southern Arizona. My acoustic is a Larrivee, which I've had for almost twelve years, and I've had my Strat for almost twenty. I'm also a writer, a member of the Nashville Songwriters Association International, and have performed writers' showcases in Nashville and house concerts across the country and in Canada. I use Elixirs on both guitars, for over 20 years on acoustic, and over 5 years on electric. I've never had any problems with these strings. The tone is amazing on both acoustic and electric, with plenty of punch when I play my Larrivee unplugged. Even my Strat is more resonant unplugged. It doesn't matter what kind of sound system or amp I use, Elixirs bring out the best in any sound setup. Outdoor gigs on a venue patio or in someone's backyard pose no challenge to the quality and longevity of Elixirs. I've played in the Texas Hill Country, mostly outdoors in high heat and humidity, and these strings overcome and adapt like a jarhead Marine! I've played at ski resorts in New Mexico, again outdoors . . . same result - greatness. These guys got it right, and I'm a lifetime customer. I attribute much of my success to the quality of Elixir strings. Thanks, guys!

Great Strings

By Aaron Watkins

from Cleveland, TN

Comments about Elixir Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light/Medium (.012-.056):

These are the only strings that I will spend my money on now. After several years of trying out different brands of acoustic strings, I absolutely love these and would recommend them to anyone. They really do last a long time like they say they do. Right now I still have ones on mine that I put on this summer, and they still sound great, no joke. And I play the guitar almost everyday. Bottom LIne: Money well spent

Excellent sound, unparalleled longevity...

By David Davol

from Ashburn, VA

Comments about Elixir Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light/Medium (.012-.056):

As a full time acoustic soloist, I perform 3-6 times a week, every week, sometimes twice in one day. Many of my venues are outdoors in the warmer months, very tough on guitar strings. Not only do the Elixir Phosphor Bronze Nanoweb strings ring full and clear, with bright highs and full bass tones, they simply last longer than any other string I've ever used, usually by a factor of three or four. It's not unusual for me to get up to three full weeks of gigs out of one good set, where all the brands of uncoated strings I used previously were losing their brightness and ability to tune well after one week. They're expensive, but to me the Elixirs are worth it...

Best Strings Ever

By Guitar Hero

from California

Comments about Elixir Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light/Medium (.012-.056):

I used these to restring my Epiphone PR-150. They say its a beginner guitar but if you put these on, they can make any guitar sound as great as a Taylor or Martin. Also they last much longer than most strings. When I use other strings, I usually have to restring it about 3-5 months. But these will last and sound the same the day you bought it after a year. Buy them. They are totally worth the money.
