Overview

Strum confidently with the same premium acoustic guitar strings that experienced players worldwide trust to keep their incredible tone longer than any other string available.

Unlike other string brands, Elixir Strings coats the whole string. This protects not only the outer string surface but also the gaps between the windings where common tone-deadening gunk typically builds up in other brands’ coated and uncoated guitar strings. Anti-Rust Plating on plain steel strings ensures longer tone life for the entire set.

Who wouldn’t love more quality playing time between the hassle and cost of string changes?

Engineered to endure, these acoustic strings constructed with phosphor bronze wrap wire boast a dynamic balance of rich, full-bodied tone and sparkling high-end clarity. Compared to our original POLYWEB Coating, the ultra-thin NANOWEB coating allows a more traditionally textured, “uncoated” feel.

For a slicker, gentler feel, try a set of strings with their original POLYWEB Coating. The 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with POLYWEB Coating, for example, might be a good fit if you want a more robust and rounded tone. On the other end of the tone spectrum, Elixir's 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating deliver a brighter, crisper tone alongside the same traditional feel as these phosphor bronze strings.

Of course, the kind of string you play is all a matter of personal preference. Not sure what tone or feel is right for you? Try them out for yourself, and find your new favorite string from Elixir Strings. Jam on and on (and on) with the same premium electric bass guitar strings that experienced players worldwide trust to keep their incredible tone longer than any other string available.

Specially developed based on in-depth feedback from more than a thousand bass players just like you, Elixir Strings' tailor-made selection of bass strings proudly includes nickel-plated and stainless steel construction options, four-, five- and six-string sets, long and extra-long scales, and virtually every gauge range you could possibly need. All with their innovative string coating technology. And unlike other string brands, Elixir Strings coats the whole string. This protects not only the outer string surface but also the gaps between the windings where common tone-deadening gunk typically builds up in other brands’ coated and uncoated guitar strings.

Who wouldn’t love more quality playing time between the hassle and cost of string changes?

Premium by design, these electric bass guitar strings constructed with nickel-plated steel wrap wire boast a rich, rounded tone with incredible clarity and a heavy mid-range presence. Meanwhile, the ultra-thin NANOWEB Coating, redesigned specifically for bass guitars, allows a smooth, natural feel that also enhances grip and reduces finger squeak.

For a brighter bass tone, try our Stainless Steel Bass Strings with NANOWEB Coating.

Of course, the kind of string you play is all a matter of personal preference. Not sure what tone is right for you? Try them out for yourself, and find your new favorite string from Elixir Strings.

I really like these strings. I gig with them regularly on my Taylor 314ce. They sound and feel great. No squeaks when sliding and they help reduce finger soreness for those who play 2 to 4 shows weekly like myself. I change them every 3 shows, not because they rust (THEY DON'T) but just because even elixrs will weaken and break after heavy use. If you're a bedroom/back yard picker they'll last you a very long time. If you play professionally keep in mind they're not "magic" strings and should be changed after a few shows. Over all they are an excellent choice for several reasons. I would recommend them to anyone especially for playing acoustic guitar. I also recommend ordering from GuitarCenter.com. Every time I place an order for something in stock it arrives in just a couple of days. The service is great. Thanks

Beautiful.

By Eric

Comments about Elixir Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.012-.053):

Amazing sounding strings that last really long. Bright, clear sound. The g strings tend to break fairly easily, though, which is somewhat of an annoyance. All the times I've used these strings, the g string broke before I was ready to replace the whole set. Hence the 4 star rating.

Quite the bang for the buck

By Glenn Lee

from Fullerton

Comments about Elixir Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.012-.053):

This is my review of the Elixir Phosphor Bronze Nano web Coated Strings: The first thing i noticed when I strung this set onto my guitar was the volume and tone of these strings. I play a dreadnaught which is already pretty loud but these strings give a good boom. (but has decent soft tones) If you're looking to play alot of riffs and lines, and open chords then these are an excellent choice. But if you're like me and you like more warmer tones and you're willing to spend a little more get Cleartones. But all in all this set is great for the specified player mentioned above and proves once again that Elixir is serious about their tone.

Quiet Comfort

By nate purcell

from Charlotte NC

Comments about Elixir Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.012-.053):

Gave these a shot after reading all the great reviews on the Polywebs. I have played coated strings since there were coated strings - they are easier on "bony" fingers like mine especially playing slides, but I digress. I bought these the same time I bought my new Yamaha FG700 with the intent to replace the stock strings immediately. I am a couch-time, backyard picker, so abundant volume is rarely necessary for my style of play...and it's a good thing because these strings are very quiet, quieter than any other coated strings I've played before. The sound is solid and rich but just kind of muffled, especially when finger picking which I do most of the time. Super easy to play, but do not expect big sound out of these.

Expensive, but quality

By Christian Provensen

Comments about Elixir Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.012-.053):

Such a drag when one breaks, but they stay bright and smooth for much longer than normal uncoated strings. When they are on sale, buy 'em!

I have been using these strings on my taylor 114ce and nothing else compares for the brightness, or the fullness of the sound these strings always supply. I have been using them for 3 years now and have only ever had 2 break on me and I don't play lightly. They last long and feel great. I recommend these strings to everyone who plays guitar with me.

my go to for coated strings

      By Matt Miller

      from Georgia

Comments about Elixir Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.012-.053):

I used to frequently use these strings. They have exceptional longevity and I do like their tone on most guitars. they have a very soft feel and can have you playing for hours and hours. I've since moved away from these strings as they do not give my martin justice. but when I need coated strings, these are where its at. I recommended them to my father and he had them on his guitar for 5 months and we finally had to take them off because the high strings were completely black with corrosion, however they still didn't yield a typical "dead" sound.

I've Heard Great Recommendations About Elixer And I Was Kinda Disappointed That In One Day Of Playing I Tried To Tune From (D) To Standard And All Went Well Unit I Got To The [D] And [G] Strings The Snapped Before I Even Reached Their Proper Tuning, Over All Great Strings None Can Compete Just A Word Of Caution Be Careful Not To Go So Fast When Tuning

      Elixr light phosphor bronze strings

      By Matthew Templin

      from Jemison, Al

Comments about Elixir Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.012-.053):

These strings have a great sound, but the coating started to peal off of them after about two days of playing. I was really disappointed in them for the amount of money I paid. The peeled coating doesn't seem to effect the sound though. I will probably go back to D'addario EXP after these wear out.

These strings are really nice. I use them on my 40-year-old Fender dreadnought that had always had horrible problems with string squeak. I had heard that Elixirs really helped to reduce the squeak and decided to try them out. I put them on, and it was love at first strum! The sound is really bright and clear, and the string squeak, while not completely gone, is much reduced. I think I'm going to stick with the Elixir strings from now on. Thumbs up!
