Elixirs are the first major innovation in strings in over forty years, and they deliver what they promise: great tone and long life no matter what you put them on or how often you play. Nanoweb coating permits strings with the feel, bright tone, and punch of traditional strings.
Elixir Acoustic Guitar Strings are covered with an ultra-thin, space-age polymer tube that contacts the string on the tops of the windings only. This leaves the all-important winding-to-winding-to-core space free from the fear of the enemies of tone!
Most players report that Elixir Strings keep sounding great 3 to five times longer than ordinary strings.

I got my strings in early, thanx to Guitar Centers fast shipping! I opened my strings and put them on my guitar and they sound wonderful! I did have a little trouble out of the pegs that hold the string in place, the strings being custom light was a little smaller than I planned on them being, but with a little time I got them to work. (Please note that my pegs are old, and I should have bought new ones) I love the strings cause you can make bends with them and they are very clear and ring very loudly!!!!! I will definitely buy them again!
My uncle turned me on to Elixir strings a few years ago.. I now string everyone in the family with them ! When people ask me about them(Or I go talking about them) I tell people, " You can throw them on a Wal-Mart guitar, and it will come out sounding like a Martin... Beautiful, rich tones, that I have never heard another string produce.
These are the only strings I'll use on my Taylors. They'll last a good 3-months of heavy use. A bit more expensive per set Yes but considering the annual cost of strings...I'll take Elixir Nano Custom Lights over a dozen sets of someother guys strings...Just wish my local GC kept them in stock but with 3-day delivery who can complain? Admittedly, I've only been playing guitar 5 years or so, and I've never (until recently) owned an acoustic. However, I am a bit of a tech head and recording buff, so my ear knows what sounds good. A lot of my guitar buddies recommended Elixir strings, most of whom said the 11's were what they played with. I decided to go with these Nanowebs because they were supposed to be brighter, which is good if you're tracking a song or playing with other people and want the acoustic to stick out. I love the sound of these. Note that the bright sound wouldn't be suited for people who do a lot of solo playing as the bottom end isn't as heavy, but even a little EQ work can fix that problem if you're plugged it. These are awesome strings, and I hope they last me a long time.
I've been using these strings for ages on a GA Guitars Crown of Thorns, a Takamine FP360SC and a Baby Taylor. They are perfect for me, last a long, long while, and are just the right gauge for my playing. If you're buying them, you may as well get them for the best price. That is here at the Guitar Center. We do know that the best price isn't always the best price if the freight is kicked up, or the service sucks, but that's not the case here. Great service, great price, reasonable freight and quick shipping. Can't ask for more.
I have been playing guitar for over 45 years! I play on a Taylor C816. There just aren't any better strings than the Elixir NONOWEB, 80/20 bronze. I like the Custom Light, becuase they are easy to lay wether I am finger picking or strumming! If you are wondering what kind of strings to put on your guitar... look no further. Get the Elixir NONOWEB.
Great strings!!! Light gauge are too scratchy for my taste. Medium are bad for my guitar's neck. I have found the custom lights are worth the extra money time and time again!! They sound great and play great!! Such a great rich sound!! Seems like they last forever too!! I only change strings about 4 times a YEAR!! Highly recommend these!!
I bought these for my husband and he is extremely pleased with these strings. He uses them on all his guitars and I must admit, they do have a better sound quality. He doesn't use any other type. AND they were a great deal. The shipping was reasonable and we recieved them very quickly.
There is minimal squeak if that's a problem for you, it is for me, because they are a bit slippery, but you get used to it real fast. I bought these because i was really into the song Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes, and it's played on the acoustic, but in order to play the song, it was easiest to slide the finger up the string. the coating on these made no squeak and BONUS they stay in tune longer and don't lose that nice tone because of the coating... This beats Martin.
I bought these for my son's guitar. (small beginner hands) He likes them better than anything else we've tried. He says they're "slippery"! Personally, I like the tone of Martin strings better...but for smaller, beginning hands, these are the way to go.
