Overview

Amp up your guitar’s tone life with the same premium electric guitar strings that experienced players worldwide trust to keep their incredible tone longer than any other string available. Unlike other string brands, Elixir Strings coats the whole string. This protects not only the outer string surface but also the gaps between the windings where common tone-deadening gunk typically builds up in other brands’ coated and uncoated guitar strings.

Who wouldn’t love more quality playing time between the hassle and cost of string changes?

Engineered to endure, these nickel-plated steel electric guitar strings boast a ton of bright, vibrant presence and dynamic punch. Compared to our original POLYWEB Coating, the ultra-thin NANOWEB Coating allows a more traditionally textured, “uncoated” feel.

For a slicker, gentler feel, try a set of electric guitar strings with their original POLYWEB Coating, which also feature a warmer tone.

Of course, the kind of string you play is all a matter of personal preference. Not sure what tone or feel is right for you? Try them out for yourself, and find your new favorite string from Elixir Strings.

I bought these strings after i broke my G string. I had them for 4 months exact and they're still strong. I would still recommend to clean them even though their in good condition so you don't have to keep changing strings. I use a easy method, just get two Q-tips, dip it in alcohol, and then rub the top and bottom of the strings.

Right away I noticed a change in tension. The hexagonal core might be larger or a different alloy possibly. Strings would break after playing a bit, which I do not have this problem with other strings. I'm an Ernie Ball user and do like the elixir coating better than Ernie Ball coating for electrics. Ernie Ball coating seemed to have tacky feel to them. The nano web coating seems more natural while the poly web feels like theres a rubber tube molded over the string which glides nice, but screws with the tone and tension. I really want to get on with these strings, but struggle with noted opinions and experiments. I believe Ernie Ball strings use a smaller hexagonal core than other string manufacturers with a larger wind. I'm note 100% certain of this, but read on an Ernie Ball forum that commented about this. Ernie B's do have more flex than other string gauges especially comparing the same gauge. It's been awhile since I put an Elixir on my guitars. I have played on Elixir's in guitar store's with guitars strung with Elixir's and still they just seem completely different than other strings. I don't quite understand why players put this string high on a pedestal but will say the strings corrosion is contained better than regular strings. If you leave these strings on for a while they do start to fray where your pick strikes, which would be a good time to change strings. I think I could go threw 2 to 3 packs of non coated EB's for around the same price. Changing strings is kinda therapy for me and it gives me time to clean my guitar. Maybe again I'll try to give the Elixir's another go, but for now I don't feel that curious about changing my ways, but again we all can change for the better if we can just get over our selfs and quit walking around like egomaniacs claiming to be the next guitar king!

I have been playing guitar for over 25 years. So far this package (Extra light Elixir coated nanoweb guitar strings), has been the best one in the market. They are a bit pricey, but they work well. They last longer than any other brands that I used before.

I figured out that only a 9 set will do on my Les Paul. I tried several brands of 9 sets and I thought Ernie Ball was the way to go. After playing Ernie Balls for awhile, I realized they were just to silky feeling. That's when I tried these. I was amazed at the difference. Elixirs feel the best so far. They last about a year since I don't play my Les Paul away from home to often. I have yet to break one of these strings. I see no reason to buy another brand of strings for my Les Paul. It's the most fussy guitar I have for matching up the right set of guitar strings.

Greatest Strings I've Ever Used - I Swear By Them

              By Brian Vadnal

              from Ohio

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Super Light (.009-.042):

These are the best electric guitar strings I've ever used. Even with the lighter Nanoweb coating, these strings always feel slick and smooth to the touch while playing. The strings offer a lot of comfortability when you need to play some fast riffs...they simply do not impede your fingers in any way, which is important. THESE STRINGS LAST YEARS! The only reason I've ever had to replace these strings on my 2002 Les Paul Classic is when I break a string. Otherwise, I could keep the same set of strings on for years and years. THEY ALWAYS SOUND FRESH! Cheaper brands of strings I've used in the past before discovering the Elixir brand almost always tended to rust within an hour or two. These strings NEVER RUST whatsoever. Because I've loved these strings so much, I really haven't been willing to try any other brands of strings. Within the last few years, I've mainly sworn by Elixir brand strings FOR ALL MY GUITARS. ELIXIR ACOUSTIC STRINGS ARE ALSO PHENOMENAL! By the way, I use 9 gauge electric strings and 11 gauge acoustic strings, all in the Nanoweb coating. I highly recommend Elixir strings to anyone and everyone! Well worth the money!
