Overview

Amp up your guitar’s tone life with the same premium electric guitar strings that experienced players worldwide trust to keep their incredible tone longer than any other string available. Unlike other string brands, Elixir Strings coats the whole string. This protects not only the outer string surface but also the gaps between the windings where common tone-deadening gunk typically builds up in other brands’ coated and uncoated guitar strings.

Who wouldn’t love more quality playing time between the hassle and cost of string changes?

Engineered to endure, these nickel-plated steel electric guitar strings boast a ton of bright, vibrant presence and dynamic punch. Compared to our original POLYWEB Coating, the ultra-thin NANOWEB Coating allows a more traditionally textured, "uncoated" feel.

For a slicker, gentler feel, try a set of electric guitar strings with Elixir's original POLYWEB Coating, which also feature a warmer tone.

Of course, the kind of string you play is all a matter of personal preference. Not sure what tone or feel is right for you? Try them out for yourself, and find your new favorite string from Elixir Strings.

As a professional musician, I have used the Elixer Brand on all my electrics from Tele's to 335's and all my acoustics from Taylors to Martins and they perform superbly every time. The feel is smooth, the sound is great, the string noise is minimum and they last long even through hard playing. The Elixer's record clean and clear in the studio. As a touring player, I have used them for years and will continue for may years to come. My advise to those that break strings, get a good quality guitar with a proper set up and your problems will be solved. Elixers are worth the money,

I use Ernie Ball Slinky 10's because they are affordable and sound good. However, I can tear through a set of those in 3 days due to the sweat my hand produces after playing for a while. I decided to try Ernie Ball Cobalts which sounded fantastic, and they did wear somewhat better, but not as long as I hoped for the price. Enter Elixer Nanowebs. They feel absolutely amazing to me, super slippery, very little string squeak, but the tone is really lacking. The coating on the strings definately takes away from the bright high end, and the bite my Strat normally has. Going from the Ernie Ball Cobalts to these was very dramatic, as the colbalts were very bright. If I could find the tone of the Cobalts with the feel of Elixers, I'd be happy, but I probably won't be buying these again. Its like shoving a sock in your guitars mouth instead of letting it sing. 5 stars for the feel and longevity, but tone gets a -5 from me.

Sweet Strings

By guitar stringer

from U.S

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

Elixir strings are some of the best strings out there. So when my guitar needed new strings I chose Elixir. They make my guitar sound like new and they're great for the price. They actually reduce fret noise when changing chords and they last 4 times longer than others. Be prepared to tune constantly for a few days and then they stay in tune great. Overall I'm chosing Elixir for my next string purchase.

Best strings on the market

By dude that knows

from anytown USA

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

The coating makes them last forever. I have a set on my SG standard that has lasted for over a year and if you played it you would assume they are new. No better strings out there, the guy that wrote the bad reveiw needs to learn to tune his guitar without breaking strings.

Elixir light nanoweb electric guitar strings

By Stantheguitarman

from Dallas, TX

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

Heard impressive things about the sound and longevity of Elixir strings and have played them myself on accoustic electric. Yet this particular set of strings only lasted a couple weeks on my Les Paul Standard. Also, I was upset that guitar went out of tune way too often.

OVERPRICED FOR CHEAP STRINGS

By Mike

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

Theres no way 1 pack is 10 bucks or more. I buy bulk on a few diffrent brands and get 10 sets for the price of this 1 set. THE 1ST STRING BROKE IN 3 DAYS. i have seen a dog make better strings than these. Anti rust...how could they rust since they dont last more than a week. BOTTOM LINE GO WITH AN OTHER BRAND NEVER BUY THESE

The only choice for professional players

By PVinKC

from Kansas City, Missouri

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

Since the moment I first tried these strings they have been the ONLY strings that I put on my electrics and acoustics. Just be sure to stretch 'em out good and put them on a decent instrument with a proper set-up and you'll have many hours of use. They take everything that I throw at them and keep on tickin'. The guy who wrote a bad review must work for another manufacturer or doesn't know how to tune or set up a guitar properly. BUY THESE!!!

BEST STRINGS

By I know what I'm talking about

from Pasadena, CA

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

These strings are quite amazing. Unlike other strings that just lose that new string quality these stay "fresh" for a really long time. Usually I have to change strings every couple of weeks but these have really lasted. Great tone they just need to be stretched out like every other string. They stay in-tune really well and if anyone complains that they don't they either don't know how to string a guitar or they need a new set up. Over all great buy, kind of expensive for strings but totally worth it.

Great Strings for Kicking Out The Jams

By Sloan

from Maryland / Tennessee

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

I've been using Elixers for quite a number of years now. They feel good a long time. I recently did a test with a set of regular Ernie Ball strings and concluded that within two hours of constant playing, they were already reaching an almost unplayable state. This just won't do since I usually play 4-6 hours at a regular gig. I've had a set on one guitar that have been there almost a year now. I still can't believe I haven't had to change them yet. The only reason I buy regular strings now is to use as backups so if I break a string, I can replace it in between sets. They may cost more upfront, but will save you money in the long run.

Great Product

By Colin

from Delaware

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

At first, I was skeptical. I had heard from my uncle that these strings had no tone. Well, he was wrong. I put these on an old junker guitar, and it sounded beautiful through a clean amp. The strings are coated, which help your fingers move better on the neck. They stay in good tune, and do not rust. I was playing 1+ hours a day, 7 days a week, not wiping the strings when they were done, and they lasted 4 months. I was amazed. They are a little more expensive, but they are worth their weight in gold.

I Have Finally Found the Right Strings

By Justin

from Tolland, CT

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

Originally I had thought the Elixir strings were all about just longer life. Also, I was skeptical and thought it might just be an over rated gimmick. Over the past three years, I've tried just about every one of the most popular lower priced strings. Some were good, but not great, and one in particular broke constantly. Then I bought a Taylor Big Baby that came with Elixir Nanowebs. It sounded and played so well I didn't want to try anything else. They really did last longer than other strings and they sound perfect. Now I tried these on my Epiphone Les Paul Ultra-II and it also sounds perfect and still sounds and plays great after about 3X the time of my previous strings. Plus with similar playing, no breakage. Just give them a try and you will see. And, if you price them per hour of play, they can actually come out less expensive than other strings...

Don't waste money on cheap strings

By TI

from Seattle, WA

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

These strings sound amazing! I've always ran Fender strings on my Strat, but decided to try these because I loved the elixirs I bought for my acoustic. The upgrade in tone is unmistakable, and the sustain I get now is absolutely juicy! My strat is an American Deluxe and my amp is a Fender Deville pushing Vintage 30's. I feel like I wasted years of tone on cheap strings- don't do the same! Just a few bucks more makes a huge difference. Also, the reviews that complain about breakage- It's not the strings! At least not any more than any other strings. Guitar strings break, it sucks, but it happens, and the fact of the matter is playing style (or improper stringing) causes breaks far more often than a faulty string. Get over it, it broke, put a new pack on. Geesh.

difference maker

By Dave

from blue springs, mo.

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

I am just a beginner...5 months. I dont play with a lot of distortion, and that can make a difference, but for the record i have tried ernie ball slinky regs and the elixer nanoweb lights on my fender mim. The elixers stay in tune longer with a warmer tone. I have locking tuners on the fender so stringing is not an issue. Also I have elixers on my alvarez acoustic. I have tried martin sp in the past, and can honestly tell you the nanowebs are far superior. I have many more brands to try, but i wanted to put in my two cents of limited experience.

good but not great

By sully

from calabasas, California

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

elixir strings last about twice as long as standard strings but cost twice as much and if one breaks, and they have just as good of a chance of breaking as regular strings, then they dont last as long. If you can afford them than buy them but if your like me then stick to boomers or daddario or any other non coated strings.

Break easily

By Ashly

from TN

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

The strings felt pretty good, but they broke in less than three days. I tried to keep replacing them with single strings, but after the third string broke, I just bought a different brand of strings. And to the guy who complained about people complaining, I put these on my PRS custom 22, and it has been frequently set up by my guy in Nashville.

almost perfect

By Mr. Blue Sky

from carrabelle, Fl.

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

these strings sound and play great. ive used dadarrio, rouge, martin, and ernie ball in the past but this kinda trumps them all. the sound is a bit warmer than ernie balls. as well if you hear anything on these breaking dont worry because they wont unless you play rough during the stretching period of these strings (which lasts about 3-6 days) after that you can completely mutilate these strings and the will be fine. the only possible fault i have found in these is that they dont have the vintagy well-used tone that ernie ball strings do until they are worn in well ... with ernies that vintage is immediate but short lived but with these it takes a little wearing in but but once they are they go for a while ... but overall ernies and these have a similar tone and the longevity and smooth feel of these strings are well worth the extra $5

The Next Big String Thing

By Jon Spain

from Concord N.H.

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

Let me please start by telling you that I'm dedicated to playing guitar. I've been playing since I was six years old (am 20 now) and play my guitar for several hours everyday. My hands deteriorate strings within two weeks since I play so often! I've tried several other varieties of coated strings and they don't nearly match up to these. I was impressed on how they've brought my guitars tone to life after tearing the heck out of these after hours of playing everyday. It's been almost two weeks and they're still on my guitar and noticeably damaged. I was so surprised by the quality of coating after putting days of playing into them, I even had tested to see if I could scratch the coating off and surprised enough couldn't. These not only sound outstanding, but feel incredible on your fingers and are an ease to bend. The steel quality they beneath the coating feels similar to silver to me. Please don't be mislead by false reviews or opinions. Obviously If you don't put strings on correctly, clean/tune up your guitar frequently you won't have issues. Check them out yourself. I'll never buy another brand of strings. I believe they're the next big thing in strings.

they are good, get over it.

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

I have been using these strings for about a year, they are great. Don't know what this guys problem is, if you notice he has about 5 reviews in. In each they all sound the same just different names, even a girls. Who buys 3 sets of strings with out trying them out. Remember these are very light gages. He should go buy another brand, and just be happy playing his guitar, instead of slaming Elixir. Again I use these all the time, no problems. Martin Guitar has a good pdf on care and feeding of guitar, tells how to properly put on a set of strings.

Strings Made A Huge Difference

By Adam Schott

from Fort Jones, California

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

These strings are amazing!!! I've tried many brands of strings on my strat, and these Elixir strings not only last a long time, but are the best sounding as well. There is little or no squeak or noise between chord changes, and i love the warm classic sound they provide. My strat just doesn't sound as good without these strings. I'm never buying a different brand of strings again.

I like em!

By Patrick Malanoski

from Maryland

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

I've been using these for over a year on my tele and I'm getting another set to try on my epi casino (which currently has the light/heavy nanowebs that I'm not as fond of). I think they might be the perfect tele strings. They're SUPER easy to play in all respects, have a stellar feel, and handle alternate tunings well (not too loose/tight until you get more than two steps away from standard tuning). Plus they seem to last indefinitely. They have a relatively bright tone, which compliments the natural character of my tele and will hopefully cut the mud on the P90's of my casino. Prolly great for anything that doesn't require a darker/heavier tone.

The best strings for the best guitars!

By wes lambert

from Billings, Montana

Comments about Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.046):

OK, you've bought the best guitar or guitars your money could buy. Now you want them to deliver that great tone that you have spent countless hours trying to develop. You've practiced and practiced and your skills are at the point where you can honestly demand the best sound from your gear and you know when you are not getting it. Keep in mind that the first thing you touch when you play are your strings and if they aren't the best they can be you are already at a disadvantage in your quest for that great "tone". The best guitars and best amps can't help because it all starts where your hands meet the strings. If it lacks something at that point it will still lack when it gets to the ear of your audience. And if they are paying for your music then you owe them the best music you can make. Nuff said. I've been using Elixir Nanos for a couple of years now on my acoustics and electrics both. The tone is there, the response is well balanced across the strings, they last and last and above all, they sound superb! Of course your instrument should be set up properly, especially the intonation should be adjusted if you are changing string guages. I love these strings, so do my guitars. Guitar Center prices are competitive and fair. Their service is great. The online ordering process is simple and your stuff arrives on time. Of course, given how long these strings last you shouldn't need them in too big of a rush. So, if you aren't happy with your "tone", Try these strings they might just be what you are looking for.
